LABUAN BAJO, EAST NUSA TENGGARA — The scorching heat of the sun on Wednesday (28/6/2023), one day before the Feast of Sacrifice, did not discourage the hearts of the kindness warriors and volunteers of Dompet Dhuafa. They are the winners of the Schoolunteer event hosted by Dompet Dhuafa Volunteer (DDV) with influencers and donors. Schoolunteer itself aims to spread the goodness of the Tebar Hewan Kurban (THK) Program in an activity of Cuti Berbagi in the momentum of Eid al-Adha 1444 H.
Traveling a distance of approximately 1.5 hours by sea from Labuan Bajo Island, they arrived at Messah Island with the welcome of the Pancak Silat Dance using a spear which meant welcome. In addition, the volunteers were also put cold powder on their faces by residents there.

The warm welcome was expressed by Ustaz Mustaming El Bajo as the Head of Pasir Putih Village, Messah Island as well as Empowering Dai Cordofa (Corps Dai Dompet Dhuafa) Dompet Dhuafa in 2021.
“We warmly welcome the Dompet Dhuafa Team to come to Messah Village to continue the programs that have been established for a long time, one of which is the Tebar Hewan Kurban Program,” said Ustaz Mustaming.
In the THK Program on Messah Island, Dompet Dhuafa will slaughter eight sacrificial cows which will be distributed on Messah Island and three surrounding islands, namely Papagarang Island, Rinca Island, and Komodo Island.
The same thing was also conveyed by Maya Nuraini, Activation Manager of Dompet Dhuafa Volunteer and Community. She revealed, “The warmth of the residents’ welcome managed to carve the smiles of the voluntrip participants, after traveling for hours to the location. Hopefully the good memories will be carved from this activity, both for the residents of Messah Island and Voluntrip participants.”
In addition to sacrificial animals, Dompet Dhuafa also rolled out assistance in the form of 100 Qur’ans and praying equipment. They were distributed to residents on Messah Island. (Dompet Dhuafa/Zulfia/Nabilla)
