Nadia’s Noble Dream: To Succeed in Order to Help and Bring Joy to Others

DEPOK —-— Nadia Sakirana (9) is one of the beneficiaries of the “Belanja Bareng Yatim” (Shopping with Orphans) Program, a collaboration between Dompet Dhuafa and Paragon Corp. Who would have thought that despite her young age, Nadia has such a noble dream? She wants to become a content creator so she can share with others.

As seen in some posts on social media timelines, there are content creators whose work focuses on giving to those in need. This is what inspired Nadia to become a content creator who can help spread happiness to others.

“I want to be a content creator. I’m so happy seeing content creators who love to share. I want to share because it’s a huge dream of mine—since I’ve experienced hardship, I have to be able to help people even though I’m struggling myself,” Nadia told Dompet Dhuafa.

That spirit grew even stronger when Nadia became one of the participants in the “Shopping with Orphans” event, held as part of Dompet Dhuafa’s Ramadan 1447 H series on Tuesday (March 10, 2026), because Nadia experienced firsthand how sharing can spread happiness to those in need.

On that occasion, Nadia had wanted to buy a keychain, but she chose to buy school supplies instead, which were more important and something she needed more. She bought a bag, books, pencils, pens, a ruler, correction pens, and a journal.

“I’m so happy because I got to shop for these things. Thank you so much, Sis, for letting me buy these. May you all stay healthy, be blessed with abundance, and be protected. If I ever succeed, I’ll always remember this,” Nadia continued cheerfully while showing off each item she had purchased.

Nadia’s story serves as a reminder that sharing doesn’t always have to wait until we have more than enough. On the contrary, it is through the experience of facing limitations that a deeper empathy grows—one that allows us to understand and help others.

Sharing possesses a power that is often unseen; it is contagious. A single act of kindness can spark another, creating a chain of compassion that continues to expand. In a world often preoccupied with itself, sharing serves as a reminder that we are all connected. A simple act of help can be the reason someone smiles again, regaining the belief that they are not alone.

In addition to shopping, Nadia also received a gift and broke her fast together with her friends and her mentor. Moreover, this was her first time visiting Gramedia.

“I don’t come here very often; usually I shop at the market, but coming here is totally different—it’s cooler, and there are so many books, so I really enjoy picking them out,” Nadia added.

Currently, Nadia lives with her mother and older sister; her father passed away when she was five years old. Her mother is a stay-at-home mom. To help her mother, Nadia sometimes uses her allowance to buy household essentials like soap or cooking oil.

“Sometimes I’ll tell Mom, ‘Here’s some of my allowance—you can buy whatever you need at Indomaret or wherever, like soap or something,’” Nadia continued.

Nadia also shared that she wants to be successful. But more than that, she wants her future success to be a means to continue giving back. Through experiences like “Shopping with Orphans,” Nadia has come to realize firsthand that happiness can come from simple things—like kindness, compassion, and togetherness. What she feels today is gradually shaping her dream to be a part of that kindness in the future.

Because, in truth, sharing isn’t about how much is given, but about sincerity and the intention to bring benefit. And from there, goodness will always find a way to grow and spread, reaching more hearts. Let’s help bring the spirit of kindness at the end of Ramadan through digital.dompetdhuafa.org/donasi/sedekahyatim. (Dompet Dhuafa)
