TANGERANG —-— In the spirit of Ramadan 1447 H, Dompet Dhuafa and Supermal Karawaci once again spread the blessings of Ramadan through an entertainment and recreational event titled “Shopping with Amazing Kids,” held on Wednesday (March 4, 2026) at Supermal Karawaci in Tangerang.
For this fourth edition, Dompet Dhuafa and Supermal Karawaci provided an opportunity for 50 orphaned children to participate in the main activities, which included shopping for Ramadan essentials for free at Matahari, enjoying free entertainment and recreational activities at Timezone, and breaking the fast together, supported by dozens of tenants at Supermal Karawaci.

The iftar meal was sponsored by Paris Baguette, Beard Papa’s, Roti O, Bogana May May, Hokben, Mochi Mochio, Hop Hop, Ramen 1, and Teh Kotjok. Not only that, but the children also received goodie bags containing toys or stuffed animals from Timezone, copies of the Quran from Gramedia, and clothing from Sogo. Additionally, they watched a magic show and sang together with the South Tangerang Singers community.
Dompet Dhuafa and Supermal Karawaci share a common mission to reach out to and assist the underprivileged in need. This event is part of the “Muliakan Yatim” program, one of Dompet Dhuafa’s major initiatives dedicated to orphaned children—ranging from meeting their basic needs to supporting their future through scholarships, mentoring, and training.

During this Ramadan season, Dompet Dhuafa is also welcoming initiatives from its partners to contribute to the program, including Supermal Karawaci. Through this collaboration, we hope to further raise awareness among the Indonesian public regarding care for orphans. We also hope that Supermal Karawaci’s involvement will inspire other partners to be moved to provide similar support.
“We are truly grateful that we at Dompet Dhuafa are grateful for the trust and opportunity in our fourth year of collaboration with Supermal Karawaci and all its tenants. Hopefully, this collaboration can continue in the future and not end here, becoming a sustainable program that ensures our younger siblings can live well,” said Etika Setiawanti, Director of Resource & Mobilization at Dompet Dhuafa.

In line with this, Eddie Salim, Director of Supermal Karawaci, emphasized that Supermal Karawaci is not only active in the commercial sector but also engages in humanitarian efforts through initiatives during this Ramadan
Furthermore, Eddie added that trust, transparency, and professionalism were the reasons for choosing Dompet Dhuafa as a partner.

“We hope this initiative will continue in the future, because Dompet Dhuafa operates in a very open and transparent manner, with a mission to continuously support and assist the underprivileged, and of course we will continue to support Dompet Dhuafa,” said Eddie.
“We are grateful for the participation of all tenants, which grows every year. Let’s join hands to help our younger brothers and sisters in need,” Eddie added.

A symbolic donation was presented by Eddie Salim, Director of Supermal Karawaci, to Etika Setiawanti, Director of Resources & Mobilization at Dompet Dhuafa. Afterward, the 50 children began preparing to shop for free at Matahari.
Accompanied by their older mentors and Dompet Dhuafa volunteers, the children began selecting whatever items they needed; some ran to the shoe and sandal displays, some stopped at their first destination—the girls’ Muslim clothing section—while others stood proudly in front of a large mirror trying on their new skullcaps.

They looked thrilled, their faces lit up with bright smiles. One of them was Angel, who bought several outfits for Eid and school.
“I’m sooo happy today because I got to play and shop all day, and earlier we broke our fast together. Playing at Timezone was so much fun. Alhamdulillah, all my needs are met—the clothes are all so nice. “Thank you to Dompet Dhuafa, Matahari, Supermal Karawaci, and Timezone for making us happy—now I have Eid clothes,” said Angel with sparkling eyes and a sincere smile.

Present at this joyful occasion, Dhova and Maipa—Dompet Dhuafa volunteers who also accompanied the children—helped them choose the best clothes and items. Dhova noted that this program embodies a creative concept of sharing, as it involves not only financial assistance but also engaging and enjoyable activities.
“Alhamdulillah, today we’re doing something positive—this time, we’re shopping together with these amazing kids. For this program, the concept of sharing is creative: we shop together for their needs, they can choose what they want, and they’ll also get to play at Timezone,” said Dhova.

During this blessed month of Ramadan, let’s join together to support social initiatives like “Shopping Together with Orphans” to help and reach out to the wonderful children in need, through digital.dompetdhuafa.org/donasi/sedekahyatim. (Dompet Dhuafa)
