YOGYAKARTA —–— Dompet Dhuafa, through its Yogyakarta branch, officially dispatched humanitarian aid for disaster survivors in Sumatra on Friday (02/01/2026). The aid dispatch ceremony took place at the courtyard of the Dompet Dhuafa Yogyakarta office and was officiated by a representative of the Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat Sultanate, Raden Mas Gusthilantika Marrel Suryokusumo (Gusti Marrel), alongside the Head of Dompet Dhuafa’s Yogyakarta Branch, Muhammad Zahron, and Ndarboy Genk.
This humanitarian aid shipment is part of the ongoing humanitarian initiative Ngamen Untuk Sumatera, a solidarity campaign organized through the collaboration of Dompet Dhuafa Yogyakarta with Ndarboy Genk, musicians, and artists from Yogyakarta. This initiative serves as a space for collaboration between the arts community and humanitarian movements to mobilize public concern for disaster survivors.

The aid sent consisted of a truckload of humanitarian supplies containing various basic necessities for survivors, including staple foods, women’s kits, hygiene kits, children’s kits, Muslim kits, new clothes, basic foodstuffs, and eating utensils and kitchen equipment.
All of this aid will be distributed through the Dompet Dhuafa Disaster Management Center (DMC) team, which is already in North Sumatra and Aceh. For your information, the DMC humanitarian team has been working since the first day of the disaster to carry out evacuations and distribute aid to various affected areas to ensure that the aid is distributed evenly to the people in need.

In his speech, Gusti Marrel, Head of the Environment and Social Department of the Yogyakarta Palace, who is also the grandson of Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwana X, emphasized the importance of preserving the environment and being more prudent in managing natural resources. On this occasion, Gusti Marrel also expressed his appreciation and gratitude to all parties who participated in this humanitarian action.
“Hopefully, the aid from the people of Yogyakarta can be distributed properly to the survivors in Sumatra and Aceh. In addition, I hope that the recovery of the survivors in Sumatra and Aceh can improve soon,” he said.

Representing Yogyakarta musicians, Ndarboy Genk, represented by Mas Daru, also said that the involvement of artists in the Ngamen Untuk Sumatera campaign was a form of shared concern for others.
“Ngamen Untuk Sumatera is a result of our concern in responding to the widespread impact of the disaster in Sumatra and Aceh. With this assistance, it is hoped that the recovery of the survivors can be handled,” said Mas Daru.

Previously, Dompet Dhuafa Yogyakarta, together with 15 Dompet Dhuafa branches in Indonesia and abroad, distributed humanitarian aid to various disaster-affected areas in Sumatra through 11 humanitarian trucks, carrying 75 tons of aid, with a total of 101,095 beneficiaries spread across three provinces.
Muhammad Zahron emphasized Dompet Dhuafa Yogyakarta’s commitment to continue to be present and take sustainable action in responding to disasters.
“We are grateful to the donors, including companies, communities, organizations, artists, musicians, and the people of Yogyakarta for their shared concern and humanitarian spirit in helping disaster survivors in Sumatra and Aceh,” said Zahron.

The departure of these humanitarian trucks was witnessed by representatives of partner organizations, members of the media, and Dompet Dhuafa Yogyakarta donors. Through the delivery of this humanitarian aid, Dompet Dhuafa Yogyakarta hopes to provide tangible benefits and ease the burden on disaster survivors in Sumatra.
