BANGKOK, THAILAND — On Monday (17/4/2023), Ustaz Dasram Effendi as Dai Ambassador Dompet Dhuafa assigned in Thailand again visited mosques in the Land of White Elephants.
This time, he visited the Al Atiq Bang Uthit Mosque located on Charoen Krung Road, Bangkok, Thailand. It is known that the mosque has stood for more than 150 years.
The Al Atiq Bang Uthit Mosque has also been renovated, in collaboration with Turkey. The renovation is known to cost approximately 50 million Thai Baht.

When visiting there, there were interesting things that Ustaz Dasram encountered. He met Mr. Narong Vongsumitr as Foreign Relations Committee of Syeihul Islam Office. The man is 86 years old and is close friends with two Indonesian figures, they are Muhammad Hatta and Jusuf Kalla.
That afternoon, the Maghrib prayer done together at Al Atiq Bang Utit Mosque was followed by Yasin Tahlil for Mr. Narong Vongsumitr’s wife named Fathimah Binti Abdul Karim.
Through his note to Dompet Dhuafa, Ustaz Dasram Effendi also admitted that he was grateful for being given the opportunity to meet Muslim brothers at that mosque.
