JAKARTA —-— Recently, Indonesia has been experiencing severe economic conditions, not to mention widening social inequality. Furthermore, Sumatra and Aceh have yet to recover from flash floods and landslides. Despite this, Dompet Dhuafa remains optimistic in welcoming Ramadan 1447 H.
During the upcoming Ramadan, Dompet Dhuafa will carry out a campaign called “Berzakat Itu Kalcer” (Zakat is Cool). Various programs and collaborations will fill the month of Ramadan 1447 H with Dompet Dhuafa. Dompet Dhuafa presented the spirit of the campaign at the Ramadan 1447 H Press Conference: Berzakat Itu Kalcer at Top Golf Fatmawati, South Jakarta, on Wednesday, February 11, 2026.
Sulis Tiqomah, Chair of Ramadan 1447 H Dompet Dhuafa, opened the press conference by conveying the spirit of the “Berzakat Itu Kalcer” campaign and presenting the flagship programs that will run during Ramadan. Among them are flagship empowerment programs, such as Tebar Zakat Fitrah, Yatim Remember (Ramadan Meriah Penuh Berkah), Ber-Ojol (Bantu Rawat Kendaraan Ojek Online), Recovery Sumatra, Borong Dagangan Saudaramu, and Mudik Kalcer.
In addition, there are also regular programs based on zakat, infaq, sadaqah, and waqf (Ziswaf) that will continue to run during Ramadan. This includes assistance to strengthen our brothers and sisters in Palestine during Ramadan 1447 H. During this holy month, Dompet Dhuafa aims to reach 750,000 beneficiaries.

“At the beginning, the Chairman of Ramadan Dompet Dhuafa explained the programs running at Dompet Dhuafa. This is our step to become a channel for managing zakat, infaq, sadaqah, and waqf funds in Ramadan 1447 AH. With the right program, we hope that it will be appropriate and on target, as well as the management of donations collected from the community. Compared to the number of beneficiaries in 2024, which was 3,269,768 people, in 2025 there will be 3,632,925 people. This means that the growth in beneficiaries from 2024 to 2025 is 363,157 people, or more than 11.11 percent,” said Ahmad Juwaini, Chairman of the Dompet Dhuafa Republika Foundation, during a panel discussion.
Ahmad Juwaini added that Dompet Dhuafa provides a variety of services to facilitate public participation in doing good with Dompet Dhuafa. These range from the ease of donating at your fingertips through the Dompet Dhuafa application, which is integrated with many payment channels, to counter services in various shopping centers, to zakat collection. In addition, Dompet Dhuafa also strengthens its collaboration with a number of Zakat Management Partners (MPZ) spread across Indonesia.
On the other hand, Dompet Dhuafa has opened a new collaboration with the Sharia Business Unit of PT Bank Maybank Indonesia Tbk (Maybank Indonesia) through regular almsgiving as a reinforcement of the culture of sharing with others.
The collaboration between Maybank Indonesia and Dompet Dhuafa is a tangible manifestation of a collaboration for good that unites the strengths of Islamic banking and a trusted philanthropic institution. Maybank Indonesia provides technological capabilities and banking services that facilitate transactions, while Dompet Dhuafa has extensive experience in managing and distributing social funds in a trustworthy and targeted manner.
“This synergy makes Ziswaf payments more practical, routine, and transparent, so that kindness can reach more beneficiaries in a sustainable manner,” explained Romy H Buchari, Director of Islamic Banking at Maybank Indonesia.

Romy Buchari also added, “As a bank that has consistently implemented a Sharia First approach since 2014, Maybank Indonesia continues to develop a Sharia digital ecosystem that is relevant to the needs of the community. Through the use of Bank as a Service (BaaS) and Open API Account Binding services, customer accounts can be directly connected to the Dompet Dhuafa application, including through the Scheduled Regular Donation feature, which enables automatic daily, weekly, or monthly donations directly from Maybank Indonesia accounts. This service is the first of its kind available on a zakat, infak, and sedekah institution app in Indonesia, and Dompet Dhuafa is our first partner. This initiative aligns with the bank’s mission: humanizing financial services, where our Shariah banking services are not only a means of transaction but also an enabler of worship and social impact with far-reaching benefits.

Prof. Waryono Abdul Ghofur, Director of Zakat and Waqf Empowerment at the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs, who was also present at the press conference, highlighted the enormous potential of national Ziswaf. This refers to Ziswaf as a strategic instrument in poverty alleviation if managed optimally and collaboratively.
Meanwhile, Dompet Dhuafa Super Volunteer Aliah Sayuti said, “The strength of the humanitarian movement cannot be separated from the dedication of volunteers. For her, the spirit of volunteerism is the lifeblood of distributing benefits to all corners of the country.”
“Ramadan 1447 H is also hoped to be not just a spiritual moment, but also a moment to strengthen the national ecosystem of goodness. By carrying the message, ‘Zakat is Kalcer,’ Dompet Dhuafa wants to emphasize one thing: sharing is no longer a seasonal trend, but a deeply rooted culture,” concluded Aliah Sayuti. (Dompet Dhuafa)
