SEMARANG —-— In welcoming the holy month of Ramadan 1447 H, Dompet Dhuafa Central Java Branch held a Tarhib Ramadan event, greeting the residents of Semarang City at Car Free Day (CFD), Simpang Lima Area, on Sunday (01/02/2026) morning.
The event began with a group fitness session with the community, which was enthusiastically participated in by CFD visitors. After the fitness session, Dompet Dhuafa Central Java continued the series of activities with free health services and distributed vegetables to the community as a form of social care and an invitation to share ahead of the holy month of Ramadan.
Through this event, Dompet Dhuafa Central Java aims to remind the community that Ramadan is approaching, while also introducing this year’s Ramadan campaign theme: “Zakat is Kalcer”.

The head of the Central Java branch of Dompet Dhuafa, Zaini Tafrikhan, explained that the theme was chosen to convey the message that zakat and other social instruments are not merely obligations, but have become part of the culture of sharing within the community.
“The theme ‘Berzakat Itu Kalcer’ (Giving Zakat is Cool) aims to convey that kindness through zakat, infaq, sadaqah, and waqf is a culture that is deeply rooted in society. Mutual cooperation and helping one another are characteristic of the Indonesian people. This includes zakat, which is not only a form of worship but also a culture among Muslims in helping one another,” explained Zaini.
He added that through a more community-oriented approach, Dompet Dhuafa aims to present the message of zakat in a way that is more relevant to daily life, especially for the younger generation.

“We want zakat to be understood as a lifestyle of goodness—easy, enjoyable, and impactful. Ramadan is the best moment to foster this spirit,” he continued.
Through this initiative, Dompet Dhuafa Central Java hopes to raise public awareness about preparing for Ramadan with a spirit of sharing, while also strengthening the role of zakat as a social solution for the well-being of the community. (Dompet Dhuafa)
