Read This Prayer When seeing the Kaaba in the Masjidil Haram, Hajat Inshaallah Qabul

kabah-di-mekkah

“I would love to go to Mecca, see the Kaaba up close, pray there, complain and offer the best prayers to be granted by Him,” said a Muslim who yearns to be able to perform Umrah and Hajj in the Haram. What Muslim does not yearn to see the Kaaba in person? Probably nothing.

For Muslims, the Kaaba is not just a cube-shaped building covered in black cloth with a door to the northeast. Moreover, the Kaaba can move all Muslims in the world to the point that it becomes the Mecca of their prayers. That one thing can illustrate how special the Kaaba building is. Several histories also mention that our prayers will be easily answered if we pray around the Kaaba and the Masjidil Haram. In fact, just seeing the Kaaba, then we pray, then our prayers are believed to be answered by Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala.

Prayer at the sight of the Kaaba

Imam An-Nawawi in Holy Al-Idhah fi Manasikil Hajji mentions a prayer that is recommended to be read when seeing the Kaaba. He encouraged anyone who saw the Kaaba to recite the following prayer:

اللَّهُمَّ زِدْ هَذَا الْبَيْتَ تَشْرِيفًا وَتَعْظِيمًا وَتَكْرِيمًا وَمَهَابَةً، وَزِدْ مَنْ شَرّفَهُ وَكَرّمَهُ مِمَّنْ حَجَّهُ أَوِاعْتَمَرَهُ تَشْرِيفًا وَتَكْرِيمًا وَتَعْظِيمًا وَبِرًّا

Means: “O Allah, add glory, majesty, honor, and greatness to this Jerusalem (Baitullah). Also add glory, honor, majesty, and kindness to those who perform Hajj or Umrah who venerate and honor the Kaaba.

Kaaba in Mecca.

The prayer as read after a prayer once recited by a ta’bin scholar, namely Saíd bin al-Musayyib rahimahullah (may Allah gave mercy on him) according to the Atsar narrated by Abi Syaibah di al-Mushonnaf 7/102 and al-Baihaqi in As-Sunan al-Kubro 5/73 with a valid sanad. When he entered the Masjidil Haram and saw the Kaaba, he said:

اللهُمَّ أَنْتَ السَّلَامُ وَمِنْكَ السَّلَامُ، فَحَيِّنَا رَبَّنَا بِالسَّلَامِ

“O Allah, verily You are As-Salaam (the Most Holy/saved from all disgrace and lack), and from You salvation, so welcome us, O our Rabb, with salvation.”

The prayer of seeing the Kaaba does not stop there. Imam An-Nawawi also advised those who see the Kaaba to offer any prayer, even if it is related to the interests of the world and their Hereafter. Because, the door of heaven is open to people who are looking at the Kaaba. However, the most important thing is to ask Allah Swt’s forgiveness or rest after reading the above prayers. Wallahu a’lam..

May Allah Swt always give us the convenience to look directly, pray, and laught around the Kaaba in the Holy Land. (Dompet Dhuafa/ Ustaz Ahmad Fauzi Qasim/Ronna)
