Sincerely Helping Others, an Entrepreneur Donates an Ambulance to Barzah Through Dompet Dhuafa

JAKARTA —-— The holy month of Ramadan will soon be coming to an end. The best time to share with others and give as much as possible is being increasingly embraced by various groups in society, both personally and communally. One such example is a businessman from Bekasi, identified only by his initials KMS, who chose to remain anonymous. He took the initiative to donate a barzah ambulance to Dompet Dhuafa on Tuesday (April 26, 2022) at the Philanthropy Building in Jati Padang, South Jakarta.

According to his statement, he had already planned to donate this ambulance since January 2022. However, the licensing process required for this type of ambulance meant that his intention had to wait for some time. This did not dampen KMS’s humanitarian spirit; on the contrary, the length of the process meant that he was able to reap the benefits during the best month, Ramadan.

“Actually, I had been planning to donate this Barzah ambulance since January. I searched for information about donating this ambulance, and finally found one of Dompet Dhuafa’s programs, Barzah, on their website. I immediately contacted Dompet Dhuafa, and they responded positively and helped me throughout the donation process from start to finish,” said KMS during his visit to the Dompet Dhuafa Philanthropy Building.

Some of us might wonder why KMS chose a barzah ambulance as a form of his kindness. It’s not without reason. KMS conducted a personal survey at several mosques in various regions to see what the community’s needs were that were still not being met optimally. From the field survey, KMS found that many mosques already had emergency ambulances, but barzah ambulances were very rare.

Not only did he see the existence of barzah ambulances at mosques, but KMS also confirmed the cost of using barzah ambulance services. This motivated him to donate a barzah ambulance through Dompet Dhuafa’s Barzah program. This program is a form of community service that provides barzah ambulances free of charge.

“I visited several mosques in my area and others. There, I often saw medical ambulances, but I rarely saw barzah ambulances. Yet many people need them, and the cost is quite expensive after I found out directly. I think this is something we need to help the community in need,” he continued.

The donation of a Barzah ambulance by KMS will certainly continue to strengthen Dompet Dhuafa’s services, especially in the Barzah Program. We remember that some time ago, when the Covid-19 pandemic was at its peak, many grieving families found it very difficult to obtain a Barzah ambulance and were burdened by high costs. Barzah is here to ease the burden on grieving families by providing free services.

“Mr. KMS’s delayed intention actually brought him into a month full of grace and blessings, namely Ramadan. We greatly appreciate and are deeply moved by Mr. KMS’s kindness and sincerity. Hopefully, what Mr. KMS has done will serve as a reminder for all of us to continue sharing and spreading benefits as widely as possible to others. We will uphold the trust of this Barzah ambulance for the benefit of the community and those in need,” said Prima Hadi Putra, Director of Business, Operations & Support at Dompet Dhuafa.

KMS is an example for all of us that doing good is one way to find happiness in life. We don’t have to wait until we have abundant wealth to share with others; all good intentions will find a way through the Creator. We must truly emulate KMS’s simple personality and willingness to listen directly to the complaints of the surrounding community. (Dompet Dhuafa / Arlen)
