According to Faqih, Dompet Dhuafa continues to strive to channel humanitarian aid from the people of Indonesia through various channels that allow entry into the Gaza Strip.

“God willing, Dompet Dhuafa will channel the aid through several schemes. We work with the government of the Republic of Indonesia, through the Embassy of Egypt. Second, we work with NGOs or local institutions, to distribute the aid directly to those in need,” Faqih added.

Furthermore, Tantan stated that the fundraising for Palestine is based on two things. First, as a mandate of the preamble to the Indonesian Constitution. Second, to increase literacy among students in issues of sharing and caring.

“It is said that we must encourage those who are under colonization, because all forms of colonization in the world must be abolished. So, those two dimensions are the basis of this activity,” he revealed.

This donation is expected to alleviate the burden of our brothers and sisters in Gaza, considering the conditions there are still tense due to Israeli occupation. This was conveyed by Eka Kusnianingsih, Chairperson of the Committee of Madrasah Pembangunan.

“In the future, hopefully, the children there can also feel like our children here. Happy, feeling their independence, because in truth, they are the successors of the nation, not to be colonized,” Eka added.

Faqih also expressed the highest appreciation and gratitude to the students, teachers, and parents who care about the humanitarian tragedy in Palestine.
