JAKARTA —-— Dompet Dhuafa received a donation of Rp25 million from PT Niterra Mobility Indonesia—the world’s No. 1 manufacturer of automotive spark plugs under the brand name “NGK”—to build temporary housing (Rumtara) for Sumatra on Friday (February 13, 2026). Rumtara is one of Dompet Dhuafa’s disaster recovery programs currently being intensified to assist flood survivors in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.
According to the latest report from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), the floods that hit the Sumatra region have claimed 1,205 lives, destroyed hundreds of homes and public facilities, and left 74,830 people living in evacuation camps. In response to this, Rumtara has become an urgent need that requires serious attention from various parties.
In his speech, President Director of PT Niterra Mobility Indonesia, Mr. Atsushi Aoki, said that his company had long intended to distribute donations. However, due to unavoidable circumstances, the support could only be distributed now.

Aoki recalls how the earthquake and tsunami disaster struck his hometown in Japan.
“It does take a long time to recover,” said Aoki.
“Not only physical support is needed, but also mental and financial support,” he continued.
Aoki hopes that the donations distributed through Dompet Dhuafa can reach the survivors of the Sumatra disaster who are in need.
“Hopefully, it will be useful for the survivors,” he said.
Dompet Dhuafa Partnership Officer Muhammad Kamil Zaidan expressed his deep appreciation for the collaboration of various parties, including PT Niterra Mobility Indonesia, to restore Sumatra.

“It is through collaborations like this that Dompet Dhuafa has been able to operate for the past 32 years,” said Kamil.
He said that Dompet Dhuafa has been quick to respond to the needs of survivors since its inception.
“This response has taken the form of various programs, such as public kitchens, medical support, provision of communication channels, worship packages, and others,” he said.
However, Kamil continued, Dompet Dhuafa’s recent focus has been on building Rumtara with a two-year empowerment period, Emergency Schools, and the construction of mosques for survivors.
“The support from PT Niterra Mobility Indonesia will be very helpful in realizing these programs,” he added.
Dompet Dhuafa aims to build 1,000 RUMTARA. The program has already begun and currently, around 131 temporary shelters have been launched in Aceh.

Although the flash floods in Sumatra have passed, many survivors are still struggling to slowly rebuild their lives. To help our brothers and sisters in Sumatra realize their dreams, please give your best support through digital.dompetdhuafa.org/donasi/prayforsumatera. (Dompet Dhuafa)
