PEKANBARU, RIAU – In the spirit of sharing during the holy month of Ramadan, Dompet Dhuafa Riau and Living World Pekanbaru invited 30 single mothers and elderly poor people to shop together at the Farmers Market on Tuesday (18/03/2025).
The activity, entitled “Ramadan Blessings Shopping” by Dompet Dhuafa Riau, aims to fulfill basic needs during Ramadan until Eid arrives by shopping for free.
All beneficiaries welcomed it with enthusiasm and joy. They looked very excited to choose one by one the basic necessities for their families at home. The basic food shopping packages included rice, cooking oil, animal protein, sugar, syrup, flour, tea, and so on.

Public Relations and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Living World Pekanbaru, Noval Akbar, welcomes this collaboration with Dompet Dhuafa Riau with open arms. He is also enthusiastic about the concept of Ramadan Blessings Shopping by Dompet Dhuafa Riau, which is different from previous years.
“We have worked with Dompet Dhuafa Riau very often. In previous years we initiated Shopping with Orphans, but this year with a different concept, we invited Single Mothers and Elderly Dhuafa. This is very good, because it can bring happiness to those in need,” said Noval.

One of the beneficiaries, Nurmayulis, beamed with joy after shopping for groceries. She admitted that she and her family had not prepared anything for the Eid al-Fitr holiday. So this was the right time to buy these necessities.
“Alhamdulillah, I am very grateful today. If it weren’t for today’s groceries, I might not have enough groceries to celebrate Eid. This is also my first experience shopping at the mall. I had never been before. Thank you to the donors Dompet Dhuafa Riau and Living World Mall Pekanbaru,” said Nurmayulis.

Dompet Dhuafa Riau Fundraising Manager, Andrika Saputra, said that the Ramadan Blessing Shopping activity aims to bring happiness to single mothers and the elderly in need. He hopes that similar activities can continue to be carried out, so that together they can bring happiness to the people of Pekanbaru.
“This activity aims to bring happiness to single mothers, who are strong women, and the elderly poor in welcoming Eid. Of course, by giving them the opportunity to shop at the mall to meet their basic needs,” concluded Andrika. (Dompet Dhuafa)
