JAKARTA — Dompet Dhuafa received one ambulance unit through the Joint Ambulance Waqf Program in collaboration with PT Asuransi Allianz Life Syariah Indonesia (Allianz Syariah) and PT Bank Maybank Indonesia, Tbk (Maybank Indonesia). The handover took place on Friday (29/11/2024) at Sentral Senayan, South Jakarta.
This program invites customers to share kindness through the program, by purchasing sharia insurance products such as MyProtection Bijak II, MyProtection RENC Syariah, and MyProtection Waris Syariah launched by Allianz Syariah and Maybank Indonesia.
During the period June 1 to November 30, 2024, customers who purchased one of the sharia insurance products had the opportunity to donate funds for the provision of ambulances. From this program, 345 policies with a value of one million rupiah each were collected, which were collectively turned into ambulances. This vehicle was then handed over to Dompet Dhuafa as the manager to be utilized to the greatest extent for the good of the people.
Furthermore, the customer will receive a waqf certificate from Dompet Dhuafa as proof of the goodness that the customer has done this collective waqf, which is also given to the customer at the ambulance handover.
Prima Hadi Putra, Head of Dompet Dhuafa’s Waqf Investment Development Institute (LPIW), said that the collaboration between Allianz Syariah, Maybank Indonesia, and Dompet Dhuafa is an innovative step in the development and literacy of waqf in Indonesia, especially in the health sector.
“The collaboration between Allianz Syariah and Maybank Indonesia with Dompet Dhuafa is an implementation of innovation in waqf development and literacy in Indonesia to further strengthen the role of waqf in providing lasting benefits in the health sector. The ambulance that will be operated in one of Dompet Dhuafa’s waqf-based hospitals, the Dompet Dhuafa Integrated Healthy House Hospital, in Parung, Bogor Regency, will certainly be a supporting facility that greatly facilitates serving patients to get good medical treatment,” Prima added.
The ambulance waqf was officially handed over by Maybank Indonesia customer representatives to Dompet Dhuafa, accompanied by Allianz Syariah and Maybank Indonesia management representatives. Dompet Dhuafa received this ambulance waqf to be used in one of the productive waqf hospitals, namely the Dompet Dhuafa Integrated Health Hospital (RST) located in the Bogor area, West Java.

Director of Sharia Banking Maybank Indonesia, Romy Buchari, said that the Joint Ambulance Waqf Program is an innovation that is a unique selling point of sharia insurance products offered to Maybank Indonesia customers and is in line with the Bank’s mission: humanizing financial services.
“This ambulance waqf feature is Maybank Indonesia’s extra-mile step together with Allianz Syariah to assist customers in utilizing insurance services that are in accordance with sharia principles while investing for the needs of the world and the hereafter,” he said.
The launch of the ambulance waqf feature is also part of Maybank Indonesia’s efforts to develop sharia services which are in line with the Maybank Group’s M25+ initiative and strategy, which is to build leadership in sharia banking at the global level.
For information, the waqf feature is one of the noble purpose benefits that become the added value of Islamic insurance products in promoting the value of helping. Through the contributions paid, participants not only get protection against risks, but can also spread kindness and share with people who need help.
The good value of waqf is one of the acts of worship whose purpose is to accumulate jariah charity where a person hands over part of his/her property that is utilized for the purposes of worship and public welfare, so that the rewards will continue to flow to the waqif even though they have passed away. Currently, the development of waqf instruments can use money or cash waqf.
The presence of this feature is based on the fatwa of the National Sharia Council of the Indonesian Ulema Council (DSN-MUI) Number 106 of 2016 concerning waqf of insurance benefits and investment benefits in Islamic life insurance as a guideline for the application of waqf as a feature of Islamic insurance products that gives customers the option to endow part of the insurance compensation and investment value through the appointed nazhir (waqf management institution).

“With this opportunity, we express our gratitude and hope that God Almighty will bless all Allianz Syariah and Maybank Indonesia customers in their involvement to facilitate access to health for others,” Putra concluded.
Nur Hardiansyah Ikhromi, one of the customers who participated in the Joint Ambulance Waqf Program, stated that the value of the benefits of this program is in line with his company’s vision, which is to support the welfare of the people.

For this reason, it is in line with the value of our company culture which wants to provide mutual benefits and help with the principle of philanthropy, so we are interested in providing assistance in the form of an ambulance,” said Nur Hardiansyah.
