Together with IDI, DD Healthcare dan DD Klinik Hold Mass Circumcision and Free Health Services in East Nusa Tenggara

EAST NUSA TENGGARA — Through DD Healthcare and DD Klinik Kupang, Dompet Dhuafa together with the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) held mass circumcision action and free health services in 5 (five) regions of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The action is a series of Indonesian Doctor Service Days as well as commemorating the 30th Anniversary of Dompet Dhuafa, which will take place on July 6-8, 2023.

The mass circumcision and free health services were held in Kota Kupang, Timor Tengah Selatan (TTS) Regency, Lembata, Alor, and Rote Ndao. Kupang City and TTS Regency are the first to be served. Not to forget, the volunteers of Dompet Dhuafa Volunteer (DDV) and Dompet Dhuafa Waqf Saving participated in the implementation.

“This activity is a part of the Cuti Berbagi program that we open specifically for Indonesian doctor friends. So in addition to holidays, our doctors also become volunteers to serve free circumcision and treatment in the NTT region, while also providing waqf to the community through this program,” said Haryo Mojopahit, GM of Communication and Strategic Alliance of Dompet Dhuafa.

As many as 200 children and 250 poor families are projected to receive benefits from this activity. Yes, there are 50 children in Kupang City who have registered for circumcision on July 6, 2023. Meanwhile, in Soe, Timur Tengah Selatan District, as many as 150 children will be circumcised, and 250 families will take part in free treatment on July 7-8, 2023.

Quoted from beritanusra.com, Nur Atik Hidayah as Manager of Dompet Dhuafa Klinik Kupang, revealed that her party was present in NTT with the hope that they could provide benefits by providing health services to the community.

“Today in Kupang City there are 50 children ready for circumcisions, while the next day in TTS there are 150 children ready for circumcision and 200 free treatment participants. We involve 20 doctors from IDI,” she said.

Representative of the Central IDI Executive Board, dr. Moh Fachrurrozy Basalamah, said that this program is a form of service approach to the community.

“We take the moment of school holidays, so that doctors can directly contact the community as a sense of concern and closeness to remote areas,” said the Secretary for Puskrikes and Community Service PB IDI.

Head of Nunhila Village, Ebenhaezer Kanadjara, said that this activity had been carried out twice by Dompet Dhuafa Klinik, where the first activity was carried out in 2022.

“This is a very positive program, where Dompet Dhuafa, they are really sensitive to others especially underprivileged people to get free health services,” he said.

The event was also supported by Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) Maslahat, as part of the distribution of Zakat, Infaq, Alms (ZIS) that had been collected. In addition to BSI Maslahat, Danone Indonesia and PT Paragon Technology and Innovation also provided financial assistance and products to be distributed to the community.
