AUSTRALIA – On Friday (07/03/2025), the Indonesian Moslem Nurses Association (IMNA) Australia invited Dai Ambassador Dompet Dhuafa, Ustaz Khalim, to give a study before breaking the fast. The event, which was held at the Bankstown Aedrom Australian Sports Center, was attended by 87 people from the IMNA extended family.

“This event is not just about breaking the fast, but also a form of our endeavor to foster ukhuwah, togetherness with our nurse friends, especially in the holy month of Ramadan. We also want to feel the atmosphere of Ramadan like in our hometown,” said Darmawan, the event coordinator.

In the study session, Ustadz Khalim delivered material about the urgency of fasting and the measure of piety. So that the fasting that is done is not only about thirst and hunger, but also increases piety to Allah.

The event then continued with a congregational Maghrib prayer led by Ustaz Abdul Wahid, a colleague of Ustaz Khalim, another Dai Ambassador on assignment in Australia. After Maghrib prayer, the participants then had food that had been served by the mothers. The food prepared was traditional Indonesian food. The mothers deliberately prepared Indonesian dishes to add to the Indonesian flavor.

“We deliberately prepared an Indonesian menu to ease our homesickness,” said one of the mothers who was busy preparing food at the buffet table.
When the call to prayer for Isha was sounded, the participants and the preachers prepared to perform the Tarawih prayer in congregation. The imam for the activity was Ustaz Khalim.

The sport of badminton was chosen by members of the Australian IMNA to strengthen ukhuwah

After the Tarawih prayer was over, the event didn’t stop. The committee and the participants continued the evening activities by holding a badminton competition to unite and strengthen ukhuwah (brotherhood) among them.

“We are very happy with the activities held by the IMNA community. Because, in addition to the spiritual soul being emphasized, a sense of kinship and intimacy can be built through healthy activities. And this can be a form of da’wah bil hal. To be able to unite and easily preach something, we must also unite,” concluded Ustaz Halim. (Dompet Dhuafa)
