WEST NUSA TENGGARA — Dompet Dhuafa slaughtered 320 cows in implementing the 1443 H Tebar Hewan Kurban (THK) last year on Sumbawa Island. The implementation and distribution are spread from the Sumbawa Regency to Bima. Since Sunday (10/7/2022), the author began to explore the moment of slaughtering sacrificial animals in Gontar Baru Village, Alas Barat District, Sumbawa.
After the Eid prayer, the community was very enthusiastic to attend to witness the solemn moment once a year, also took the initiative to bring a pickup car to line up to pick up sacrificial meat. That day sacrificial animals were directly distributed to 34 villages in 5 sub-districts of Sumbawa Regency.
The beneficiaries in Gontar Baru Village are orphaned tahfiz students and duafa. It is also distributed to the outermost villages on Bungin Island (the second most populous village in the world), and Labuhan Bajo Village (coastal village of the Bajo Tribe), Utan District, which is an outermost area in Sumbawa Regency. A total of 723 families of the Bajo Tribe community live in the dense coastal area of the settlement.
“We rarely eat meat, understandably coastal people eat fish continuously. This (meat) I want to cook soy sauce, it looks good. Thank you, Dompet Dhuafa. Hopefully, God bless all donors,” said Ibu Asna, one of the Bajo Tribe communities, a beneficiary of THK.
Next, in the warmth of the first tasyrik day moment, Bambang Suherman as Director of Communication &; Strategic Alliance of Dompet Dhuafa at that time, together with the Governor of NTB, Zulkieflimansyah, was present and inaugurated the procession of the THK Dompet Dhuafa event in Sumbawa Besar, Monday (11/7/2022).
“Dompet Dhuafa is our friend in the synergy of kindness. Being present in Sumbawa for the moment of slaughtering sacrificial animals, I think it is a very good thing, the benefits are great for the community to farmers,” said Zulkieflimansyah.

Furthermore, the author visited Tega Village, Lambitu District, Bima Regency. On Wednesday (13/7/2022), a form of gratitude and happiness for the traditional Sambori community (native to the Bima tribe) who inhabit the hilly area of the village, as well as closing the THK 1443 H event in the Sumbawa Island area. Mrs. Fatmawati expressed her gratitude for the sacrifice distributed by Dompet Dhuafa to 350 households there.
“We are happy because I think the sacrifices here are only after the Eid prayer, it turns out that there are still more sacrifices. So it is enough to be distributed again evenly to the community. I didn’t expect that this (sacrifice) was a donation from Dompet Dhuafa Donors who might be far away, but close to their goodness,” Fatmawati admitted while receiving the distribution of sacrificial meat which then sent prayers and Al-Fatihah letters to sacrifices.
