BEKASI, WEST JAVA — The brutal occupation of Palestine by Israel has persisted for 60 days, drawing global attention. Acts of solidarity have emerged from every corner of the world, including Indonesia, where the public continues to advocate for the rights, welfare, and independence of Palestine to be promptly realized. This call for kindness is echoed by the UKKI Trisakti School of Management.

Efforts to alleviate the suffering of our brothers and sisters in Palestine are ongoing, with collaborative endeavors to channel aid to Palestine being relentlessly pursued. One such act of kindness comes from the Islamic Spiritual Activity Unit (UKKI) of the Trisakti School of Management. On Wednesday (6/12/2023), UKKI Trisakti handed over humanitarian donations for Palestine through the philanthropic institution Dompet Dhuafa.

UKKI is an organization within the Trisakti School of Management campus, responsible for managing and coordinating Islamic spiritual activities. Its functions include organizing religious events, fostering spiritual development, and providing guidance and spiritual counseling to students or members of the academic community.

This collaboration aims not only to provide aid but also to create positive, fair, and sustainable momentum in Palestine, reinforcing the global commitment to supporting human rights and justice.

“There’s no specific underlying reason for our donation to Palestine, as praying for and helping our brothers and sisters in Palestine is our duty as part of the Muslim community,” said Haikal Zimran Mubaaraq, the Chairman of UKKI for the 2023-2024 period.

The initiatives undertaken from October 31 to the end of November 2023 have received positive feedback from both within and outside the campus community. With this support, alhamdulillah, donations totaling IDR 7,000,000 (seven million rupiah) were collected.

“Our hope for the donation is significant; we aim to assist our brothers there and call upon other campuses to do the same. Hopefully, your eyes and hearts will open to the plight of our brothers and sisters in Palestine. They await your assistance,” said Aulia Azmi Harahap, a member of UKKI’s Social Environment Division.

In alignment with this, Nadiyya Syaima, a representative of Dompet Dhuafa present at the donation handover event, expressed appreciation to the UKKI Trisakti members who participated in the humanitarian effort for Palestine.

“We hope this collaboration becomes a source of continuous charity for our friends at UKKI Trisakti. It serves as an example for students from other campuses to emulate positive social initiatives and brings blessings to us all. We pray that our brothers and sisters in Palestine receive strength, find justice soon, and can live comfortably,” added Nadiyya.

The collaboration between UKKI Trisakti and Dompet Dhuafa is not a first-time occurrence. Previous collaborations have also been established to assist victims of the Cianjur Earthquake, Semeru, and other disasters, as part of a collective effort toward sustainable goodness. This ongoing collaboration reflects a strong commitment from various parties to create positive change that influences every step towards meaningful and sustainable outcomes.

The meeting concluded with a joint prayer for Palestine, led by Haikal Zimran Mubaaraq, the Chairman of UKKI for the 2023-2024 period.

Allahumma najji ikhwananal fi Falisthin wa mu’mininal mustadhafina fi kulli makan, which means: O Allah, save our oppressed Muslim brothers in Palestine and everywhere. We hope that peace will prevail in Palestine and its people can live in security and justice. May international efforts lead to a fair and sustainable resolution of the conflict in Palestine,” concluded Haikal. (Dompet Dhuafa/ADP)
