SOUTH TANGERANG, BANTEN — On Sunday (10/11/2024), Dompet Dhuafa held a reading of Yasin and Tahlil in commemoration of the 40th day of the death of the late Hj. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Marissa Grace Haque S.H., M.Hum., MBA., M.H., M.Si. (Marissa Haque) binti Allen Haque at the Khadijah Learning Center (KLC) Building, Serpong.
Present at the tahlil event was the Initiator and Chairperson of the Dompet Dhuafa Board of Trustees, Parni Hadi, along with the Board of Trustees and the Dompet Dhuafa Executive Board. Hundreds of relatives and families of the deceased wife of Ikang Fawzi also enlivened the reading of Yasin and Tahlil that day. Taking place from ba’da Asar until before Maghrib time, they solemnly prayed for the late mother of Bella and Chiki Fawzi who passed away on October 02, 2024.
Before the reading of Yasin and Tahlil, Parni Hadi together with Ikang Fawzi’s family planted a tree and pinned the waqf ambassador as a form of appreciation to the late Marissa Haque, Ikang, Bella and Chiki Fawzi for their dedication, volunteerism and kindness that inspires and aligns with what Dompet Dhuafa does.
Coinciding with National Heroes’ Day and honoring someone we love, the tree planting was carried out as a symbol of planting love which Parni Hadi interpreted as the power of kindness and volunteerism in the philosophy of life. Planting, caring for, growing goodness and bringing extensive benefits to the future to come.

Parni Hadi said that as a friend, he wanted to interpret Marissa Haque’s death by not just remembering, but also developing her goodness. She visualized it by planting a tree whose roots are grounded, whose branches and boughs reach to the sky, and bear fruit with Allah’s permission. She interpreted the Tree of Goodness Planting Movement as a national movement to empower the poor, especially women. She hopes that poor women in Indonesia can get proper health services, go to school, and get proper empowerment.
“Today we gather out of love. We commemorate the 40th anniversary of the death of Marissa Haque, my best friend who also has a history with Dompet Dhuafa, and today is also National Heroes’ Day, heroes are volunteers. In the KLC Building, whose presence was inspired by the noble woman Khadijah, the wife of the Prophet Muhammad and grew from waqf, I think it is suitable for us to plant trees as a meaning of planting love,” Parni Hadi said before symbolically planting a tree in the KLC courtyard.
“Because of love we remain available, volunteering from the heart to help others, all the time growing and growing with love. Waqf is a shared love. Love for Allah SWT, love for fellow humans, and love for nature and its contents. We plant, nurture, and grow goodness so that it will bring extensive benefits from love,” said Parni Hadi.
Giving his speech, Ikang Fawzi conveyed the impressions and stories that inspired him with his beloved wife and Dompet Dhuafa. He also expressed his gratitude for the sincerity of all those present and helped in the momentum of remembering the death of his beloved wife that day.
“I was called by my wife’s friend in Japan. It should be exactly today, my beloved wife is there to write a journal for this profership. And my wife became the first author of the journal, at Nodai University, Tokyo. I consider it important to inform you because this journal will be a useful thing in her scientific field, so in her last condition it is still carried out in her teaching and learning activities,” said Ikang Fawzi, emotionally.

The series of solemn recitation of Yasin and Tahlil continued with tausiyah by Ustaz Ahmad Sonhaji, and closed with donations for the orphans who attended. For information, Khadijah Learning Center (KLC) is a non-formal educational institution that has a mission to improve the competence of women. The presence of KLC is Dompet Dhuafa’s endeavor to produce entrepreneurial figures like Khadijah r.a (wife of the Prophet Muhammad SAW). The figure is inspiring because Khadijah is a pious woman but has a strong entrepreneurial spirit.
“On behalf of the family, I thank you very much for the prayers and kindness of all friends, especially Dompet Dhuafa. Which today is not only praying but reconnecting and making future movements for goodness inspired by my beloved wife. On this occasion I also thank the orphaned children who have attended because your prayers are very meaningful to our wife and family. InshaAllah, the presence of all friends here may bring benefits to the journey of my beloved wife, “concluded Ikang Fawzi. (Dompet Dhuafa)
