TANGERANG —-— The Institut Kemandirian continues to strengthen its role in vocational training through the Institut Kemandirian Instructor Training program, held on Tuesday (April 14, 2026) at the Institut Kemandirian campus in Karawaci, Tangerang.
This event, attended by 25 instructors, is a strategic step to enhance the capacity of instructors while ensuring that the quality standards of vocational training remain relevant to the needs of the industrial world. It is also part of Dompet Dhuafa’s commitment to providing impactful vocational education for the community.

Abdurrahman Usman, Director of the Institut Kemandirian, emphasized that instructors play a key role in determining the quality of learning, particularly in vocational education at the Institut Kemandirian
“Instructors are a fundamental part of the teaching and learning process. The quality of learning is largely determined by the instructors’ own capabilities,” he said.
He added that through this initiative, the Independence Institute aims to strengthen the learning system while producing graduates who are not only technically competent but also possess strong character and are capable of making a tangible impact on society.
Standardization of Learning and Strengthening of Values

This training focuses not only on improving teaching skills, but also on standardizing the curriculum and integrating a Learning Management System (LMS) to make the learning process more systematic, measurable, and well-documented.
In her presentation, Zamrud, as the Facilitator for Curriculum Development and Strengthening of Learning Values at the Institute for Independence, emphasized the importance of instructors understanding the institution’s values and character as the foundation of the learning process.

“Instructors must have a thorough understanding of the institution’s values and character before conveying them to participants. This forms the foundation for effective learning,” he explained.
Improving Teaching Methods and the Impact of Training
In addition, the instructors were also equipped with interactive teaching techniques, effective communication skills, and the development of practical lesson plans. Agus Hikmat, a training participant and motorcycle service instructor, appreciated this activity as an effort to improve the quality of teaching.
“Today we discussed the curriculum, and insha’Allah I will try to apply it to the teaching materials for this new cohort. Thank you to the Institute of Independence,” he said.

Meanwhile, Setiawan Chogah, a financial literacy soft skills instructor, believes this training offers a new approach to the learning process.
“This activity strengthens us as facilitators in designing a more systematic learning structure without sacrificing space for participant reflection, making it not only engaging but also impactful,” he said.
The Relevance of Free Training for the Younger Generation

The alumni also believe that the Institut Kemandirian remains highly relevant in providing access to skills training for the public, particularly the younger generation.
“We hope this institution can continue to spread its benefits and reach more Indonesian youth who need opportunities to grow,” said Ja’far, Hasim, and Wandi, who are alumni of the Institut Kemandirian training program.
Through this initiative, the Independence Institute reaffirms its position as a free vocational training provider that focuses not only on enhancing job skills but also on strengthening the learning system, the quality of instructors, and the long-term impact on improving the quality of human resources in Indonesia.
