ACEH —-— Dompet Dhuafa, together with the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH), has once again distributed humanitarian aid from the Indonesian people to the people of Aceh who have been affected by flash floods. On Thursday (11/12/2025), 1,300 aid packages arrived at the MTQ Pidie Jaya Building to benefit survivors in Pidie Jaya Regency.
The aid came from the BPKH Welfare Fund, a program aimed at supporting communities in need of assistance or in emergency or recovery situations after a disaster. The handover was carried out symbolically by the Chairman of Dompet Dhuafa, Ahmad Juwaini, who was present in Aceh together with BPKH Executive Board Member Amri Yusuf, and was received directly by the Regent of Pidie Jaya, Sibral Malasyi.
The aid packages contained complete food packages for food needs, hygiene kits to maintain cleanliness and health, and blankets to help meet body warmth needs.

The Community Service Agency (LPM) Dompet Dhuafa, with the full support of BPBD Aceh, oversaw the distribution process. This ensured that aid reached survivors in the areas most severely affected. This collaboration ensured that aid arrived quickly and reached its target.
On this occasion, the Chairman of Dompet Dhuafa, Ahmad Juwaini, explained the rapid response measures that had been taken since the disaster struck.
“Dompet Dhuafa has been present since the first day after the flash flood struck. The rapid response team immediately evacuated residents, distributed food aid, opened public kitchens, provided warm shelters, health services, and helped reopen broken bridges. All of these efforts were carried out so that the basic needs of the survivors could be met immediately,” he explained.

He added that this rapid response is part of Dompet Dhuafa’s commitment to ensuring that humanitarian services are always ready in any emergency situation in various regions of Indonesia.
According to him, the terrain encountered by the team in the field was not easy. Access to several disaster sites was cut off due to collapsed bridges and roads buried under flood debris. However, Dompet Dhuafa’s Disaster Management Center (DMC) team continued to provide assistance using adaptive methods, including crossing rivers and using alternative routes.
On the same occasion, Amri Yusuf, a member of the BPKH Executive Board, conveyed a message and hopes for the affected communities. He expressed concern about the conditions experienced by the people of Pidie Jaya. BPKH hopes that this assistance can ease their burden and help speed up the recovery process.
The Regent of Pidie Jaya, Sibral Malasyi, expressed his deep appreciation for the assistance provided. According to him, cooperation from various parties is very important to accelerate the recovery of the community.
“We welcome the assistance from Dompet Dhuafa and BPKH. On behalf of the people of Pidie Jaya, we would like to thank all parties and communities who care. This assistance is very meaningful for our residents who are trying to recover from the flash flood disaster,” said Sibral.

He explained that the flash floods that hit the area had damaged many public facilities and settlements, as well as disrupted the community’s economic activities. Therefore, the presence of humanitarian agencies provided great energy for the community in going through these difficult times.
After handing over the aid, Ahmad Juwaini, along with a number of Dompet Dhuafa leaders and the DMC team, continued their journey to Bireuen Regency to inspect the condition of the Kuta Blang Bridge. This bridge is located over the Peusangan River and is one of the main connecting routes between regions.
However, the bridge is now cut off due to flash floods, leaving severe damage that has a major impact on community mobility and the process of distributing aid to remote areas.
During the inspection, Ahmad Juwaini conveyed the importance of joint efforts to ensure that access to aid remains open.
The plan is for Ahmad and his team to cross the Peusangan River using an alternative route, then continue their journey by land to Tamiang, Aceh, to greet and encourage other affected communities and formulate a strategy for further assistance.
Dompet Dhuafa would like to thank all donors, partners, and the Indonesian people who continue to entrust this institution with their humanitarian mandate. With the support of various parties such as BPKH, efforts to help the affected communities can be carried out more quickly and with a wider reach. (Dompet Dhuafa)
