BEKASI —-— Solidarity for Sumatra continues to flow. In the aftermath of the hydrometeorological disaster that occurred in November 2025, survivors are still striving to recover and rebuild their lives. Various parties have been moved to provide aid, including Asshodriyah School.
Support for survivors in Sumatra was once again received by Dompet Dhuafa through an initiative by students at Asshodriyah Islamic School. Through their fundraising campaign, they collected Rp9,546,500, which was then channeled to support the Indonesia Siap Siaga program in the Sumatra region.
As a follow-up to this collaboration, Dompet Dhuafa and the school organized a storytelling activity as an educational tool for the students. This initiative emerged from a joint discussion aimed at creating a learning experience that is not only enjoyable but also meaningful for the students.

Additionally, the reinforcement of humanitarian values was conveyed through storytelling led by Kak Tony, who shared engaging stories. Through these stories, students were encouraged to understand the meaning of compassion, sincerity, and the importance of being there to help others, especially those facing disasters.
The donations will be distributed through Dompet Dhuafa and utilized in various priority programs currently underway in the affected areas.
School officials stated that this activity serves as a means to instill a sense of empathy from an early age. They also expressed their delight at the students’ efforts, particularly the enthusiasm shown by those participating in this program to support Sumatra’s recovery.
“Through this activity, we hope that the children will gain a deeper understanding of the meaning of sharing and develop a sense of compassion for others, especially those in need,” said a school representative.
The students participated in each storytelling session with great enthusiasm and actively engaged in the interactions led by Kak Tony. Meanwhile, Nuriyah from Dompet Dhuafa’s Direct Fundraising Network expressed her hope that this collaboration would proceed smoothly and have a positive impact on the survivors.
“The donations collected are a tangible expression of the students’ extraordinary compassion. We hope these values of kindness will continue to grow and become part of their lives moving forward,” she said.
