A Trust of Kindness: Sharing Protection Under the Blazing Sun

BOGOR – Amidst the increasingly scorching heat, daytime in various regions of Indonesia, including Bogor, feels like it is burning the skin. This phenomenon, although sometimes interspersed with rain at night, reminds us of the importance of protecting ourselves from sun exposure. In the spirit of care and solidarity, Dompet Dhuafa, in collaboration with the sunscreen brand Scora, extended a helping hand by distributing 200 facial sunscreen products to teenage students at several boarding schools and Islamic boarding schools in Bogor Regency on Thursday (July 3, 2025).

The distribution began at the Rumah Tahfidz Qur’an (RTQ) Khairukum in Tajur Halang. Dozens of female students warmly welcomed the Dompet Dhuafa team, who brought the donation from Scora. The journey continued to the Daar El Sa’adah Islamic Boarding School in Rancabungur, and concluded at the MTS & MAS Darussalam in Caringin, completing the distribution to 200 beneficiaries.

Diana Rahma, Partnership Team at Dompet Dhuafa, said that this initiative is not just about the product, but about sharing kindness and raising awareness of the importance of skin health for those in need.

Scora is not just about introducing its products but also demonstrating its social commitment. They understand that sunscreen products, with their important benefits, are often priced relatively high, making them less accessible for certain segments of society, especially those who are underprivileged or living in dormitories and boarding schools,” she explained.

Therefore, through collaboration with Dompet Dhuafa, Scora has taken the initiative to share with those who cannot afford it, ensuring that skin protection is no longer a luxury but a basic right that everyone can enjoy. This is a concrete step by Scora to contribute to the health and well-being of the community, especially amid increasingly challenging weather conditions.

This assistance was welcomed with smiles and sincere gratitude from the beneficiaries. Aira, an eleventh-grade student at RTQ Khairukum, expressed her joy. “I am already accustomed to using sunscreen to take care of my skin. I am very happy to receive this assistance because it is an important necessity,” she said.

Similar gratitude was expressed by Tami, a ninth-grade female student at Pondok Pesantren Daar El Sa’adah. “During the day, the heat is really intense, and I usually use sunscreen. Coincidentally, my sunscreen had just run out, so this assistance from Scora is very helpful,” said Tami, a student from Cianjur who is deeply appreciative of the donation.

Scora Bright Me Up Sunscreen is known for its light formula, high SPF, and ingredients that protect against UVA, UVB, and blue light. It is expected to provide optimal protection for the skin of students who spend most of their time outdoors.

The synergy between Dompet Dhuafa and Scora is a clear example of how collaboration between institutions and brands can create a significant social impact. This is not just about donating products, but about building awareness, sharing care, and ensuring that protection is a right for every individual, regardless of their economic background. May initiatives like this continue, bringing more goodness and protected smiles to the community. (Dompet Dhuafa)
