GAZA, PALESTINE — In addition to the Indonesian Hospital, the Dompet Dhuafa Ambulance that was carrying out a humanitarian mission in the Gaza Strip was also targeted by an Israeli missile attack. Through a video reported by the partner medical team there, it was seen that the ambulance was damaged on the front part, shortly after the missile fell. The medical team on board the vehicle were seriously injured.
Dompet Dhuafa’s ambulance in Palestine is a gift from the people of Indonesia as a result of Dompet Dhuafa’s collaboration with the Indonesian Baitul Maal Wat Tamwil Association (PBMTI) and LAZ MKU, in 2022.

Yes, the conflict between Palestine and Israel heated up again and shocked the world on Saturday (7/10/2023). The Palestinian freedom fighters, Hamas, carried out attacks in reaction to a series of violent acts from Israeli settlers against Palestinians, which were responded to by Israeli airstrikes and artillery fire. Quoting the AFP news agency, on Monday (9/10/2023), the Israeli military deployed IDF (Israeli army) fighter jets, helicopters, airplanes and artillery, which attacked more than 500 Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip.
The news of the incident drew condemnation from the world community. Calls for an end to violence and bloodshed, as well as casualties, rolled in from them, of course also from Dompet Dhuafa.
As a representative, Dompet Dhuafa’s Director of Communication and Technology, Prima Hadi Putra, expressed the organization’s stance on the tragedy.
“Many civilians have become victims. Hundreds have died and thousands have been injured as a result of the fighting. So, the conflicting parties should immediately stop the escalation of violence to avoid more civilian casualties. So as not to add to the long line of victims in the conflict. Dompet Dhuafa seeks to mobilize humanitarian assistance for civilian victims of violence to meet basic needs in the form of health services, medicines, and food,” said Putra.
He continued, “We also deeply regret the attacks on medical teams and ambulances that are in charge of international humanitarian law. These ambulances are always present and enter directly in conflict zones during war. Many have been helped and the benefits have been felt.”
After the situation subsides, Dompet Dhuafa through humanitarian partners there will review the condition of the affected ambulances. If the humanitarian vehicle is no longer possible to operate, God willing, Dompet Dhuafa will re-plan the ambulance procurement needs there. Dompet Dhuafa also hopes that peace will continue to emerge on this Earth. May Israel’s violence against Palestine no longer bring sorrow and tears. (Dompet Dhuafa)
