BIREUEN, ACEH —-— Amid the solemn atmosphere of the holy month of Ramadan 1447 H, a glimmer of hope and smiles have returned to the people of Aceh, who are still struggling to recover from the impact of the flash floods that occurred in November 2025. To this day, concrete humanitarian efforts continue to be carried out to ensure that survivors can observe the fast in a more dignified manner. This aid is not merely about meeting logistical needs; it is a message of solidarity, showing that the people of Aceh are not alone in facing the difficult post-disaster period during this blessed month.

From all corners, aid for our brothers and sisters in Aceh continues to flow unceasingly. From humanitarian organizations to local brands and the general public, everyone is acting in unison today to deliver donated supplies directly into the hands of those most in need at evacuation centers, including support from PT KAMI Idea Indonesia (KAMI) in collaboration with KAMI People.

KAMI, together with Dompet Dhuafa, is distributing donations from the proceeds of the joint campaign with KAMI People at all KAMI stores across Indonesia to flood survivors in Sumatra (Aceh) in the form of prayer kits and communal kitchen supplies for iftar meals, including takjil and boxed rice.

A total of 500 ready-to-eat meal packages from Dompet Dhuafa’s community kitchen, prepared in collaboration with local residents, were distributed to survivors in the Melati Hamlet, Benua Raja Village, Rantau Subdistrict, Aceh Tamiang Regency (February 25, 2026). As of now, many people are still living in evacuation tents, including those in Dusun Melati. Through the DMC volunteer team, 500 food packages were distributed to residents in these tents for breaking the fast.

Alhamdulillah, thanks to the iftar packages provided by KAMI, the residents of Dusun Melati were able to break their fast with their families in the evacuation tents with joy.

In addition to distributing 500 food packages to flood survivors in Aceh, the following day (February 26, 2026), Dompet Dhuafa also distributed aid from KAMI in the form of prayer kits to residents in Aceh Tamiang Regency, specifically in Sulum Village, Bandar Pusaka Subdistrict. Many residents have lost their belongings, including clothing and prayer items. One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Suri, expressed her deep gratitude for the aid provided.

“Everything here was swept away; we have nothing left—no blankets, no prayer shawls. Nothing remains, not even clothes. It’s Ramadan now, and we really need everything, sir. Thank you so much to Dompet Dhuafa and KAMI for your help here,” said Mrs. Suri after receiving the aid.

In coordination with the residents of Kampung Sulum, the DMC Dompet Dhuafa team successfully distributed 80 packages of prayer supplies to residents in the surrounding area.

This prayer kit consists of a prayer shawl, a sarong, a prayer mat, a Quran, and an Iqro’ book. It is hoped that this prayer kit will serve as both a source of comfort and encouragement for the residents and their families to remain steadfast in their worship. Amidst the hardships caused by the loss of belongings due to the flood, the provision of new prayer veils and prayer mats is hoped to bring a sense of devotion and comfort as residents kneel in prayer, seeking strength during this holy month.

This aid for the survivors in Aceh Tamiang Regency is the result of donations from a humanitarian campaign initiated by KAMI. The proceeds from the fundraising campaign were handed over directly by one of the brand’s founders, Afina Candarini, to Dompet Dhuafa’s Deputy Corporate Secretary, Dian Mulyadi, in early February 2026.

“KAMI. runs a humanitarian campaign, one of which is to collect donations for flood victims in Sumatra. These donations were collected from sales proceeds as well as direct donations to KAMI., to be distributed through Dompet Dhuafa. In line with KAMI.’s commitment to serve as a platform for KAMI. People (the term for KAMI.’s consumers and community) to help others, not just shop,” said Afina Candarini.

He continued, saying that this fundraising campaign took nearly two months. It was a fairly long time because KAMI wanted to involve more members of the KAMI community and customers who wished to help flood survivors in Sumatra. Furthermore, he said that KAMI has collaborated with Dompet Dhuafa on humanitarian efforts on several occasions. Therefore, his team trusts that Dompet Dhuafa remains a consistent Islamic philanthropic organization in terms of distributing humanitarian aid.

“Dompet Dhuafa is one of the organizations that consistently distributes aid both domestically and internationally. Therefore, KAMI truly places our trust in Dompet Dhuafa,” he explained.

In this blessed month, may the collaboration of kindness that has been established become an unending act of charity. May this act of kindness serve as a bridge of brotherhood that strengthens the nation’s resilience in facing every trial, especially for our brothers and sisters in Aceh who are currently in the recovery phase.
