Meaningful Gathering Through the Blessings of Duha Meat Donation by Muslimwear in Deli Serdang

DELI SERDANG – The Eid al-Adha celebration is a special joy for the residents of Bulu Cina Village, Hamparan Perak District, Deli Serdang, North Sumatra. The village, which consists of 22 hamlets, is separated by palm oil and sugar cane plantations. The distance between hamlets can reach more than 5 kilometers.

It’s no surprise that such a large village is home to over 100 households in each hamlet. One hamlet, Dusun 20 Pasar Tujuh, even houses 215 households. Despite this, Eid al-Adha in Bulu Cina Village this year looked different.

The presence of Duha Muslimwear—a local brand participating in the Tebar Hewan Kurban (THK) program by Dompet Dhuafa—added a unique touch. Four sacrificial animals (sheep/goats) were slaughtered at the Dompet Dhuafa Farm livestock center in Waspada and distributed as meat donations on Saturday (June 7, 2025).

The sun began to rise. Village representatives arrived at DD Farm to pick up meat donations from Duha Muslimwear. Various modes of transportation were used to transport the meat, ranging from along-along, motorized rickshaws (bentor), carts, to cars. Smiles were seen on the faces of each village representative.

The Head of Village 22 Segitiga, Haryono, also accompanied the THK team in distributing the meat. The long and rugged distance between villages did not dampen Haryono’s enthusiasm and gratitude for contributing to delivering the sacrificial meat to remote areas.

“Most of us here are local residents, and few can afford to slaughter sacrificial animals during Eid al-Adha. Economically, we’re not stable enough to make such sacrifices. So, we’re truly grateful when we receive sacrificial meat or donations from outside our area,” said Sutrisno.

The joy was also felt by Demeria Hutagalung—one of the beneficiaries from Dusun Ampera, a village with a majority non-Muslim population. She expressed her deep gratitude for receiving the meat donation. Additionally, this serves as an opportunity for community bonding among the villagers in Bulu Cina, she added.

“Thank you so much to Dompet Dhuafa and Duha Muslimwear. For this village, there are rarely any distributions of sacrificial animals. So I’m really happy,” said Demeria.

Alhamdulillah, thanks to donations from Duha Muslimwear customers of Rp5,000 from each product purchase, 40 beneficiaries in remote areas of Deli Serdang were able to experience the joy and happiness of receiving meat donations.

Eid al-Adha has passed, but its meaning continues to resonate, transcending distances and uniting hearts. Through THK Dompet Dhuafa, Your Sacrifice Makes a Difference! (Dompet Dhuafa)
