HONG KONG — Since March 20, 2023, Dai Ambassador Dompet Dhuafa in 2023 has officially dispatched to 14 countries in the world to spread Islam during Ramadan 1444 H. One of the countries targeted by Dompet Dhuafa is Hong Kong, China.
There are two Dai Ambassadors sent by Dompet Dhuafa to Hong Kong, they are Ustaz Abdul Hadi and Ustaz Junaedi Riyanto. Both arrived at Hong Kong International Airport on Saturday (25/3/2023) at 2:30 PM local time, after flying for 4 hours 55 minutes.
When they got there, Ustaz Abdul and Ustaz Junaedi were immediately greeted by Indonesian migrant workers sent by Dompet Dhuafa Hong Kong Branch to pick them up.
“There, we were greeted by Indonesian migrant workers sent by Dompet Dhuafa Hong Kong Branch to welcome us,” explained Ustaz Abdul Hadi to Dompet Dhuafa.

From the airport, the two were invited to the Dompet Dhuafa branch office in Hong Kong to meet the branch leader, namely Imam Baihaqi. After chatting for several hours, night finally fell. Before being invited to have a rest in the provided place, Ustaz Abdul and Ustaz Junaedi were first invited to have dinner.
After having an initial meeting with the leaders of the Hong Kong branch, they immediately got the da’wah task to a number of scheduled points. It did not take long, Ustaz Abdul and Ustaz Junaedi immediately carried out their da’wah on the next day, Sunday (26/3/2023).
“I got the task to speak in a lecture in the Kowloon Area, precisely at the Istiqomah Assembly located in Tsim Sha Tsui (TST),” said Ustaz Abdul Hadi.
The Istiqomah Assembly has quite a large congregation. On the day Ustaz Abdul Hadi was on duty, the worshippers were almost 250 people. They seemed very enthusiastic to listen to the religious lessons that would be delivered by the ustaz. In fact, in the Istiqomah Assembly there is also TPQ An-Najiyat, a forum that teaches its worshippers to be able to read the Qur’an.
“When I asked some of the congregation, some of them replied that they could only read Iqro and that was what they got at TPQ An-Najiyat under the auspices of the Istiqomah Assembly,” said Ustaz Abdul.
“The teachers at TPQ Istiqomah are the congregation who are proficient in reading the Qur’an. In fact, I heard for myself that the qoriah who read the Qur’an during recitation could read the Qur’an with qiroah which is in qiroah sab’ah,” he continued.

Witnessing the high spirit of worship of Indonesian worshippers in Hong Kong even though they are minorities, Ustaz Abdul Hadi and Ustaz Junaedi are amazed. They also hope that the Indonesian people can make it an inspiration and motivation to improve the quality of worship and faith.
“Masyaallah, hopefully the spirit of learning of the Indonesian migrant workers in Hong Kong can become an inspiration for all Indonesian people everywhere they are. That is, learning is regardless of place and time. As long as there is a strong will and intention, it is definitely possible to learn,” concluded Ustaz Abdul Hadi.
