SOUTH TANGERANG — In the spirit of commemorating Kartini Day 2025, which coincides with the month of Syawal, Dompet Dhuafa held a Halalbihalal event titled “Puspa Nusantara Kartini Masa Kini Berdaya dan Berbudaya” on Monday (April 21, 2025) at the Al Syukro Universal Dompet Dhuafa School in Ciputat, South Tangerang.
Drawing inspiration from RA Kartini, a pioneer of women’s emancipation in Indonesia, Dompet Dhuafa aims to reaffirm the importance of values such as change, hope, and resilience in building the future. Kartini is not only remembered for her fight for gender equality but also as a symbol of strength and courage in spreading kindness.
“This theme aligns with RA Kartini, a resilient woman who fought for Indonesian women. Puspa Nusantara embodies Kartini’s struggle—it’s not about equality, but uniting hearts to fight together,” added Tri Estriani, Chairperson of the Halalbihalal Committee at Dompet Dhuafa.

This event, which is presented in a cultural setting, showcases a variety of arts and traditions from different regions across Indonesia. At the opening, participants were treated to a performance by the Angklung Women in Leadership group from Srikandi Dompet Dhuafa. The participants and guests were also entertained by performances that reflected the vibrant colors of Indonesian culture, in line with the spirit of inclusivity promoted by Dompet Dhuafa.
Drawing inspiration from R.A Kartini, Dompet Dhuafa, through its education pillar, has initiated an educational model that fosters students with noble character and moral values. Noble character and moral values are part of Indonesia’s cultural heritage.

In line with Tri, Cici Kurniasih, as the General Manager of Education at Al Syukro Universal School, Dompet Dhuafa believes that one of the efforts to break the cycle of poverty through education is the establishment and implementation of the Nobel Character School (Sekolah Budi Pekerti) within the Dompet Dhuafa community.
Character education is not only important for individuals but also crucial for the progress of society. With good character, students will become responsible individuals and effective leaders in the future.
With character, students will grow into individuals with good morals and a high sense of social responsibility, and will be able to lead society towards a better future. Some schools that have implemented this educational model are SMART Ekselensia, Perguruan Al Syukro Universal, and Sekolah Smart Cibinong.
The noble character education model is a Budi Pekerti school that implements positive values such as Faith and Diligence in Worship, Honesty and Trustworthiness, Discipline, Compassion, Sincerity, and Gratitude.
“The Noble Character School is a donation from Dompet Dhuafa for the Indonesian nation,” concluded Cicih in her presentation.

Furthermore, Parni Hadi, Initiator and Chairperson of Dompet Dhuafa, said in the same spirit, remembering and honoring the struggle of RA Kartini who paved the way for Indonesian women to dream and empower themselves. Thus, this Halalbihalal celebration is more than just a tradition, but a reminder that mothers are the Kartinis in our daily lives.
“I want this Kartini Day to be marked with respect for mothers, for our Kartini. Dompet Dhuafa, as an Islamic philanthropic institution preserving national culture, recognizes the vital role of mothers and parents,“ said Parni Hadi.
“I urge us all to commemorate this Halalbihalal with the highest respect for the most noble figure in our lives—our mothers,” added Parni Hadi.
The Director of Teachers and Education Personnel at the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia, Thobib Al Asyhar, expressed his extraordinary appreciation to Dompet Dhuafa for its commitment to education through the Nobel Character School, which is in line with the Ministry of Religion’s education program, namely Nationalism, Etiology, and Harmony.
“Dompet Dhuafa, with its vision and mission, will educate children with a strong sense of national identity. We hope that the Nobel Character School initiative will be implemented in other educational institutions and produce individuals who are knowledgeable and of good character,” stated Thobib.

In nurturing a generation with strong character, it is not an overnight process. Prof. Dr. Nunuk Suryani, Director General of Teachers, Educational Personnel, and Teacher Education (GTKPG) at the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education of the Republic of Indonesia, outlined the challenges faced in the era of rapid technological advancement. Starting from concerns and challenges such as the rapid development of ecology, the emergence of an instant generation in Indonesia, the decline in character among students, deforestation, violence, and a decrease in appreciation for local culture.
Dompet Dhuafa is one of the organizations playing a role in improving literacy across Indonesia. Especially in improving literacy, particularly for elementary school-aged children who have experienced significant changes.
“Nobel Character School is one of the answers to our needs. Through character-based education, let us join hands not only at school but also at home with parents and in the community.”

Nobel Character School Dompet Dhuafa, as a key pillar in the character education ecosystem, in collaboration with the government, community, and other philanthropic organizations, hopes that the “10 Leadership Initiatives for Teachers” and the development of “7 Strengths of Indonesian Children” can be effectively implemented across all schools supported by Dompet Dhuafa, and remain closely aligned with the education ecosystem within Dompet Dhuafa.
The event continued with the launch of the Nobel Character School Program and the planting of Friendship Trees. Through this initiative, Dompet Dhuafa is expected to remain a vital part of the education movement, becoming one of the largest philanthropic organizations shaping Indonesia’s golden generation.
With this activity, Dompet Dhuafa hopes to strengthen human values, solidarity, and social responsibility within the framework of community bonding and culture. (Dompet Dhuafa)
