JAKARTA —-— Dompet Dhuafa Volunteers (DDV) and the Jakarta Chapter of the Indonesian Catering Services Association (PPJI) once again held an event titled REMEMBER, a grand celebration filled with joy, laughter, and creativity that served as a space to share happiness with thousands of orphans and underprivileged children during the month of Ramadan.
This event, which has been held regularly every Ramadan since 2023, took place for the fourth time in 2026. This year’s REMEMBER event received significant support from Ancol Taman Impian and was held at Ecovention Ancol, Jakarta, on Sunday (March 8, 2026).
A total of 2,000 orphans, underprivileged children, and Quran memorizers attended to enliven the event. They came from diverse backgrounds, representing 46 participating organizations. These included public schools, social foundations, playgroups, mosque-affiliated programs, Quran study circles, and other educational communities.

Not only that, this event also involved around 350 Dompet Dhuafa volunteers who served as mentors. In addition to the volunteers, representatives of donors, charitable partners, community leaders, and collaborators who have long supported Dompet Dhuafa’s various charitable programs were also in attendance.
Remember serves as a gathering space that brings together many parties—from donors, beneficiaries, and volunteers to collaborative partners—to share and strengthen one another. It is here that the spirit of kindness is gathered to become a powerful force that brings widespread benefits to the community.
One of the most anticipated sessions was the “Talent Parade,” where children had the opportunity to perform together on stage. Children with special needs, particularly those who have lost their parents, showcased their various talents and creativity before the attendees. Each performance was met with warm appreciation that helped foster self-confidence in them.

The warmth of this event was evident not only on the entertainment stage but also in the volunteers’ involvement. The older volunteer siblings welcomed and accompanied the younger children from the moment they arrived until the event concluded. They ensured that every child felt valued, heard, and loved.
The Remember event series began as soon as the participants arrived, having been dropped off directly by online motorcycle taxi drivers. These drivers enthusiastically contributed to the event by picking up and dropping off the children at the venue.
Throughout the event, participants were treated to various engaging performances, such as entertainment by the NSB Band, an inspirational story by Kak Agus, performances by Quinn Salman and Adam Khodam, a motivational session by Ustaz Rizal, and a performance by Chiki Fawzi.

In addition to enjoying the entertainment, the participants also received Ramadan gift packages and financial assistance as a gesture of care and support for them. The sense of togetherness grew even warmer as the call to Maghrib prayer rang out. All participants broke their fast together with the volunteers and mentors. This atmosphere provided an opportunity to share stories and experiences, as well as to motivate the children to remain enthusiastic in pursuing their dreams.
Deputy Chairman of the Dompet Dhuafa Board, Herdiansah, expressed his deep appreciation to the children who performed with such enthusiasm on the Remember stage. He also explained that Dompet Dhuafa, through its five program pillars, continues to innovate ways to honor orphans, the underprivileged, and Quran memorizers so that the benefits can be felt as widely as possible.
He also thanked the collaborative partners who supported the event, ensuring its benefits reached an increasing number of beneficiaries.
“Thank you to everyone for collaborating in this act of kindness. Through Dompet Dhuafa’s five pillars of programs, we will continue to strive to innovate ways to honor orphaned children and the underprivileged so that the benefits can be felt as widely as possible,” he said.

Meanwhile, Agung Praptono, CSR and Corporate Secretary of Pembangunan Jaya Ancol, echoed the same sentiment. He expressed appreciation to all parties involved in this activity. In his remarks, he also noted that Ancol makes an effort every year to invite orphaned and underprivileged children to visit Ancol.
“Every year, Ancol always invites children who may face difficulties coming to Ancol, so they can come and enjoy the attractions here. This Ramadan is a special moment because, thanks to our collaboration, we were able to invite all of you to visit Ancol,” he said.

In 2026, or during Ramadan 1447 Hijri, the Remember initiative has expanded even further. Whereas it was previously held only in Jakarta, the program is now taking place in 25 other major cities and provinces, ensuring that the spirit of sharing joy reaches even more children in need.
Other cities and provinces participating in the Remember program include South Sulawesi, Gorontalo, Surabaya, Malang, Madiun, Yogyakarta, Samarinda, West Java, Cirebon, Bontang, Balikpapan, East Nusa Tenggara, West Nusa Tenggara, South Sumatra, Southeast Sulawesi, Riau, North Sumatra, Lampung, Manado, Berau, Bandung, SBB, Ambon, Aceh, and Banten. Nationally, the number of participants in the Remember event was 3,814 beneficiaries.
Through Remember, Dompet Dhuafa, together with its partners and volunteers, hopes to create beautiful memories for the children, while fostering hope and enthusiasm for their future. (Dompet Dhuafa)
