JAKARTA —— Concern for victims of natural disasters on the island of Sumatra continues to flow. Tera Peduli and the National Management of Senam Tera Indonesia distributed humanitarian donations amounting to Rp50 million through Dompet Dhuafa, at the Dompet Dhuafa Philanthropy Building, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (12/30/2025).
This assistance is the result of fundraising from around 4,000 Tera members who are part of the Senam Tera Indonesia community as a form of solidarity and empathy for others. The donation will be distributed to help communities affected by disasters in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra provinces.
The Chairman of the Dompet Dhuafa Foundation, Ahmad Juwaini, welcomed and expressed his appreciation to all parties who contributed to the fundraising. He said that the disaster in Sumatra requires collaboration from all parties.
“We express our deepest gratitude and high appreciation to the extraordinary Senam Tera Indonesia, and hopefully Allah will reward all this kindness,” he said.

The Executive Chair of Senam Tera Indonesia, Juniwati T. Masjchun Sofwan, said that the distribution of donations through Dompet Dhuafa was based on trust in an institution that has experience in handling disasters.
“These donations were collected from around 4,000 terawan-terawati. Alhamdulillah, we collected 50 million. Today, we are handing it over to Dompet Dhuafa because we believe that Dompet Dhuafa will, insha Allah, deliver the aid faithfully,” she said on behalf of the General Chair and the Chair of Tera Peduli, who are concerned about the disasters that have occurred in the provinces of Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.
Furthermore, Mrs. Juniwati emphasized that disasters should not cause people to turn away from each other. Likewise, the victims should not despair. She is confident that the community will not remain silent. Insha Allah, the community will help according to their respective abilities.
Based on the latest data from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), a series of floods and landslides that hit a number of areas in Sumatra throughout 2025 have caused more than 1,180 deaths, 145 missing persons, thousands of injured residents, and hundreds of thousands of damaged houses with millions of people directly affected. The social and economic impacts are still being felt today, requiring ongoing support from various parties. Dompet Dhuafa expresses its gratitude for the trust given by Tera Peduli and the National Management of Senam Tera Indonesia. The donations will be distributed through Dompet Dhuafa’s disaster response and recovery program, which includes meeting basic needs, providing health services, and supporting the recovery of survivors.
This collaboration is hoped to inspire communities and the broader public to continue working together to assist those affected by disasters across various regions of Indonesia. (Dompet Dhuafa)
