Traveling Along the Collapsed Road Left Behind by the Landslide, Is Pusakata Directly Distributes Aid from ‘Together for Sumatra’ in Central Aceh

CENTRAL ACEH, ACEH —–— According to Tirto.id, 9,880 residents in the Central Aceh region are still living in vulnerable and isolated conditions, even though 54 days have passed since the hydrometeorological disaster struck the area on November 26, 2025. Dozens of villages in the remote areas have not fully recovered due to severe infrastructure damage, limiting residents’ mobility and activities.

Dompet Dhuafa, through its Disaster Management Center (DMC) and Free Health Services (LKC), distributed various forms of assistance to survivors of the floods and landslides in Sumatra in the Kampung Jamur Konyel area, Bintang District, Central Aceh Regency, on Monday (01/19/2025). Various road access conditions were encountered, ranging from collapsed road surfaces to mud and rocks left behind by landslides at many points.

This time, musician Is Pusakata joined Dompet Dhuafa in distributing the aid. After spending the afternoon packing logistical aid at Dompet Dhuafa’s Satellite Post in Takengon alongside volunteers, that evening, the lead vocalist of the band Parade Hujan also oversaw and directly distributed the aid he had initiated through a charity concert titled “Bersama Untuk Sumatra” (Together for Sumatra) with fellow musicians and creative artists in Jakarta on December 8, 2025.

“Today, I spent a lot of time in silence and reflection, witnessing firsthand the remnants of the landslide and the disrupted access in Central Aceh. I couldn’t say anything, especially when we also saw the babies, children, and the elderly who experienced this,” said Is Pusakata during a stop at the landslide site while distributing aid.

The residents of Jamur Konyel welcomed the aid enthusiastically. The aid distributed included hygiene kits, school kits, kitchen kits, generators, water towers, clothing, vitamins, women’s and baby supplies, as well as basic necessities. The aid was distributed at the Aid Post on Jl Bintang – Serule, Kp. Jamur Konyel.

“But this is also proof that there are still many good and caring people. I am grateful to the collaborating musicians and creative artists who have been solid, as well as Dompet Dhuafa who continues to facilitate. Hopefully Sumatra will quickly recover and bounce back,” said Is during the distribution.

In addition, Dompet Dhuafa also provides preventive medical services through the KesPro (Reproductive Health) and PFA (Psychological First Aid) programs, as well as distributing nutritious snacks to child survivors there.

The LKC Aceh Nufus medical team and Dr. Rifa explained that the KesPro program is a preventive measure that needs to be taken into account for survivors, especially those who have been displaced and have toddlers.

“Four out of five villages here were hit by landslides, and my house is gone. There are 118 families who lost everything (to the landslide). I am now living with my younger sibling. Thank you, Dompet Dhuafa, for all your help,” said Mrs. Leli, one of the survivors from Kampung Jamur Konyel.
