SOUTH TANGERANG – The Education Program of Dompet Dhuafa, Great Edunesia, has demonstrated its commitment to empowering Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through the Umar Usman Business Campus. This commitment is realized through the launch of the Independent and Empowered Business Consultation Program (KUMADAYA). This new initiative was introduced during the Synergy Appreciation and Action Launch for MSMEs (SAPA UMKM) event held at Khadijah Learning Center, Tangerang Selatan, on Thursday (June 26, 2025).
With the theme “Reaching Wider, Empowering SMEs to Upgrade,” the SAPA UMKM event not only served as a launch platform but also marked the conclusion of two flagship programs that have been running: the Womenpreneur Growth Academy (WGA) and the Business Development Program (BDP). Over the past period, these two programs have provided intensive mentoring to hundreds of business owners, helping them enhance their capabilities, competitiveness, and business resilience.

The KUMADAYA program is a new breakthrough in the form of a mobile business consulting service. This initiative is specifically designed to reach and assist MSME players in remote areas of Greater Jakarta and Banten. Within a year, KUMADAYA aims to visit 12 locations in six major cities, with the ambition of assisting more than a thousand business players.
Lily Zulaikha, Director of the Umar Usman Business Campus, explained the primary objective of KUMADAYA. “As one of our contributions, we aim to continue supporting business owners in developing their businesses and enhancing their business capabilities,” she stated. “Through KUMADAYA, we aim to reach SME entrepreneurs not only in the Tangerang area but also provide guidance and consultation for business owners located far from urban centers.”
The mobile service units will target strategic and bustling locations such as markets, religious gatherings, culinary hubs, shopping areas, office complexes, and public squares. This approach is expected to reach more entrepreneurs and provide targeted consultations that can be directly accessed by those in need. In addition to on-site consultations, mentoring will also be conducted online.

As part of the event series, Umar Usman Business Campus also held a graduation ceremony for participants of the Business Development Program (BDP) and the Woman Growth Academy (WGA). The achievements of the graduates were highly encouraging, ranging from increased business revenue, expanded workforce, to the establishment of broader business partnerships.
The Business Development Program (BDP) is a comprehensive four-month business training program. Designed to help business owners grow their businesses, BDP combines training, mentoring, and coaching. Meanwhile, the Woman Growth Academy (WGA), which runs for six months, specifically targets female entrepreneurs. Data shows that women entrepreneurs account for 65% of all SMEs in Indonesia, making a focus on this group highly relevant.
Ahmad Juwaini, Chairman of the Dompet Dhuafa Foundation, emphasized that these empowerment programs stem from the spirit of Philantropreneurship. This concept involves leveraging social funds such as ZISWAF (zakat, infak, sedekah, wakaf) to foster independence and entrepreneurship.

“We want to use these funds from the community to create greater and more sustainable impact and benefits,” said Ahmad Juwaini. “We have various programs under the Umar Usman Business Campus that include entrepreneurship education, mentoring, and training. All of this is part of our efforts to utilize social funds to address the growing problems of unemployment and layoffs, as well as to help those who do not yet have jobs and income.”
Furthermore, Ahmad Juwaini emphasized the importance of collaboration in empowerment and economic development. “In economic empowerment, we believe that when supporting the community, we must involve other stakeholders, such as businesses, organizations, professional networks, including industries and communities,” he added. “Currently, we are also striving to enable our community to grow and develop into a strong business force.”

This initiative is fully supported by the Banten Province Cooperative and SME Agency. It is hoped that the KUMADAYA program, in particular, can serve as a bridge to access knowledge and guidance for SME entrepreneurs. As a result, Indonesia can continue to produce resilient entrepreneurs who bring about tangible changes to the local economy.
