Great Edunesia Program Reaches Over 77,000 Beneficiaries Across Indonesia, Supported by ETOS ID Scholarships from Dompet Dhuafa

JAKARTA -– Dompet Dhuafa, through its innovative education program partner, Great Edunesia (Yayasan Pendidikan Umar Usman), continues to demonstrate its commitment to spreading positive impact across various segments of society. Latest data as of Wednesday (June 25, 2025) reveals that the program has successfully reached over 77,280 beneficiaries across Indonesia, a significant achievement worthy of recognition.

The figure of 77,280 beneficiaries reflects the program’s broad and inclusive reach. The majority of beneficiaries are individuals, highlighting the program’s focus on empowering each individual directly. This indicates that the largest contribution of beneficiaries comes from the student segment, reaching an impressive 51,400 people. Additionally, the program has successfully reached 21,100 members of the general public, 3,200 university students, and 1,500 villagers, demonstrating the program’s diversification of targets and relevance to various age groups and backgrounds.

Geographically, the Great Edunesia program is spread across various provinces. West Java is the province with the highest number of beneficiaries, reaching 23,039 people, followed by Nusa Tenggara with 9,506 beneficiaries. This demonstrates efforts to ensure equitable access to beneficial programs even in remote areas.

One of the flagship programs that has been instrumental in achieving this milestone is the ETOS ID Scholarship. This scholarship is an initiative by Dompet Dhuafa, an Islamic philanthropic organization, to address the issue of access to quality education in Indonesia, particularly for marginalized and underprivileged communities facing economic disparities. With a spirit of empowerment, Dompet Dhuafa established the ETOS ID Scholarship to create a prosperous society through education.

Managing Director of IDEAS Great Edunesia Research, Haryo Mojopahit, said:

“Dompet Dhuafa plays a major role in promoting access to higher education through Beastudi Etos Improvement and Development (ETOS ID). This program has collaborated with over 30 universities across Indonesia, benefiting 77,280 recipients and alumni since its inception. They are not only provided with stipends and tuition fees but also nurtured in integrity, professionalism, and leadership to drive transformative social change.”

The ETOS ID Scholarship was first launched in 2003 under the name Best of The Best (BoB), later transformed into Beastudi Etos, and since 2019 has been renamed the ETOS ID Scholarship. From 2003 to 2023, the ETOS ID Scholarship has specifically produced over 2,500 high-achieving students from 24 top universities across Indonesia.

“To encourage student activism, Dompet Dhuafa also launched the Nusantara Activist Scholarship (BAKTI NUSA) at over 20 universities across Indonesia. The mentoring of these student activists has produced many future leaders in society through various leadership projects. A total of 2,293 recipients have benefited from this scholarship,” added Haryo.

The ETOS ID Scholarship Program is designed with two main methods, namely Improvement and Development, to enhance students’ capacity and integrity. Not only does it provide educational funding in the form of tuition fees (UKT) for 8 semesters and monthly assistance for academic activities amounting to Rp600,000, ETOS ID also offers intensive mentoring. This mentoring includes improving foreign language skills (English), academic and organizational mentoring, personal development training, post-graduation preparation (career), National ETOS ID Gathering, and opportunities to participate in community empowerment activities.

The main requirements for this program are that applicants must be Muslim students or prospective students with good academic and organizational achievements, come from low-income families, and are committed to participating in the program for 8 semesters. ETOS ID is an initiative to break the cycle of poverty, with the hope that alumni will become competent, professional, integrity-driven, competitive individuals who contribute to society, thereby transforming their families’ status from recipients of aid to givers of aid.

In addition to the ETOS ID Scholarship, other programs such as “KTG Road To School,” “Hero for Earth,” and “Nada Belajar” also significantly contribute to the total beneficiaries of Great Edunesia. Close collaboration with various higher education institutions, including Andalas University, Bogor Agricultural Institute, and Hasanuddin University, further strengthens the program’s impact at the higher education level.

With continuously improving achievements and support from high-quality programs like the ETOS ID Scholarship, Dompet Dhuafa, through the Great Edunesia program, has proven its dedication to creating positive change and empowering communities in a sustainable manner. This success serves as motivation to continue expanding its reach and introducing innovations for a better future for Indonesia. (Dompet Dhuafa)
