Enhancing Worship Comfort, BPKH and Dompet Dhuafa Meet Mosque Strategic Needs

BOGOR, WEST JAVA —–— The Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH), in collaboration with its partner Dompet Dhuafa, held a handover ceremony for the procurement of mosque equipment on Monday (12/22/2025) at the Sakinah Warrahmah Mosque in Bojong Kulur, Gunung Putri, Bogor.

The types of assistance provided include a sound system, carpets, and a digital TV prayer time clock (JWS). The purpose of this assistance is to address the strategic needs of the mosque to support the smooth running of worship, the implementation of da’wah activities, and the strengthening of religious guidance for the community.

Also present at the event were the Head of BPKH, Acep Riana Jayaprawira; the Chairman of the Dompet Dhuafa Republika Foundation, Ahmad Juwaini; and the Chairman of the Mosque Prosperity Council (DKM) of the Sakinah Warrahmah Mosque, Sulaiman Zahid.

In his speech, BPKH Executive Board Member Acep Riana Jayaprawira explained that BPKH is an independent institution under the direct authority of the president. Therefore, this institution is separate from the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) or the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.

“So what happens at Kemenag does not directly involve BPKH,” he said.

Furthermore, Acep said that the handover of these mosque supplies was an effort to generate benefits for the wider Muslim community. This program is run through the Umat Endowment Fund (DAU), which comes from the surplus of the Hajj efficiency.

Acep said that the Hajj Fund is different from the Endowment Fund. The Hajj Fund covers almost all costs of organizing the Hajj, while the DAU is part of the Hajj Fund that comes from the operational efficiency of the Hajj.

“Based on Law Number 34 of 2014 concerning Hajj Financial Management, Hajj Funds are defined as funds deposited for the costs of organizing the Hajj pilgrimage, funds for the efficient organization of the Hajj, permanent funds for the Muslim community, and benefits controlled by the state in the context of organizing the Hajj pilgrimage and implementing programs for the benefit of the Muslim community,” he explained.

Meanwhile, the Community Endowment Fund, continued Acep, consists of the remaining operational costs of organizing the Hajj pilgrimage and other sources that are halal and non-binding in accordance with the provisions of laws and regulations.

Furthermore, the member of the BPKH Executive Board hopes that the procurement of these mosque necessities can meet the needs of the mosque.

“So that it can provide comfort to the congregation to worship solemnly. Hopefully, the equipment that is already available can be maintained and cared for properly,” he said.

In line with this, the Chairman of the Dompet Dhuafa Republika Foundation, Ahmad Juwaini, fully supports the procurement of mosque equipment supported by BPKH. According to him, this program is quite good because it makes it easier for congregations to perform their worship activities.

“So that worship is more comfortable, solemn, and hopefully more blessed,” he said.

With the sound system available, Juwaini continued, hopefully the message of religion can be conveyed more clearly and reach more people.

“So that congregants can come and be touched by the lectures or religious content here,” added Juwaini.

Finally, the Chairman of the Dompet Dhuafa Republika Foundation expressed his appreciation to BPKH for entrusting Dompet Dhuafa as a partner in distributing aid to those in need.

“Hopefully, this kind of cooperation will continue in the future,” he concluded. (Dompet Dhuafa)
