Abiyoso Wietono emphasized the importance of collaboration among various stakeholders to support the development of vocational education. GIIAS Educare Caring with Dompet Dhuafa 2025 is a manifestation of our commitment to creating quality human resources who are ready for the workforce.
“We believe that many Indonesian generations are competent. And we believe that competence grows from good learning facilities, which we have found in this vocational school. We provide support not only in the form of tools but also by bridging the gap to enter the industrial world. Let this moment be a motivation to prepare yourselves, as the challenges ahead will be tough due to the rapid advancement of technology. We must continue to explore our potential and never stop learning,” said Abiyoso.

In line with this, Astra Financial representative Wioko stated that through this program, his party does not want to just hold an exhibition, but also wants to have an impact on the surrounding community as a sustainable effort to advance education in Indonesia, especially in vocational sectors that are relevant to the current industry.

In his remarks, Director of the Dompet Dhuafa Independence Institute, Abdurrahman Usman, explained, “Poverty and unemployment are always present in every issue. We are grateful for the trust placed in us for six consecutive years alongside GIIAS. The Independence Institute is also open, with many practical activities taking place there. We chose this vocational school because of its efficient management, well-organized documents, and the students’ high interest in education.”
Symbolically, during the event, school kits, certificates, and souvenirs were handed over from Dompet Dhuafa to GIIAS and Astra Financial, witnessed by representatives from the vocational school. The assistance provided includes various practical tools and essential items to support teaching and learning activities in the automotive workshop of the vocational school. A total of 150 school kits (notebooks, t-shirts, and hats) and 1 unit of a Cutting Car, Diagnostic Scanner Tools, and Automatic Transmission were handed over in this program.

The Principal of SMK Swasta Pustek Mitra Tigaraksa, Anita, M.Pd., expressed her appreciation for the assistance provided. “Despite all the limitations, creativity can still emerge. Here, we also create things through upcycling. This assistance is very meaningful for us in preparing students to face the competitive world of work. Hopefully, with these new facilities, their creative spirit will remain and grow,” she said.
There are many challenges, especially regarding the curriculum. There is a significant gap between the curriculum, teaching practices, and real-world applications. The tools we have for practical training often differ from industry standards, or we have only recently been able to acquire the tools we currently have. It’s like a dream come true to receive this assistance, especially the vehicle for practical training. Previously, we were even trying to save up for a car, but we didn’t have the money yet,” he admitted.

Raihanudin (16), an 11th grade student majoring in Light Vehicle Engineering at SMK Pustek Mitra Tigaraksa, admits to having a keen interest in how engines work. With a sincere desire to gain knowledge, he was inspired by his father, who often dismantled and reassembled motorcycles, and he would help him.
“My father works odd jobs, sometimes as a mechanic and sometimes repairing shoes. But because he often disassembles motorcycles at home, I got used to helping out. I became curious and wanted to learn, just to have the knowledge. I also enjoy subjects like tune-ups, repairs, and restoring power to its original state. This opportunity has made me even more curious, as I’ve never seen engines like these before. Alhamdulillah,” Raihan shared.

The GIIAS Educare Caring with Dompet Dhuafa 2025 program is a continuation of the six-year partnership between GIIAS, Astra Financial, and Dompet Dhuafa. In addition to the distribution of assistance, the event also includes a photo session with vocational high school students and a visit by representatives from GIIAS, Astra Finance, the school, and Dompet Dhuafa to the school workshop to observe the implementation of the educational assistance firsthand.
This program is expected to have a significant positive impact on improving the skills of automotive vocational high school students, preparing them to become competent and professional workers in the future. (Dompet Dhuafa)
