SOUTH TANGERANG – Amidst the roar of innovation and glitz of the latest vehicles at the 32nd Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD City, there is an inspiring story from a young man. He is Wildan Aufa Mufid, a third-year student at SMK Swasta Pustek Mitra Tigaraksa majoring in Light Vehicle Engineering (TKR).
At just 17 years old, his visit to GIIAS on Wednesday (July 30, 2025) was not just a casual outing. It was a journey fueled by a passion that has been nurtured for years. Since middle school, Wildan’s hands have been familiar with wrenches and screwdrivers. “I love taking engines apart, helping my father, and sometimes joining friends who have workshops,” he admitted. His passion for engines is undeniable.

More than just a hobby, Wildan also has an adventurous and independent spirit. During his time as a boarding school student at junior high school, he made the most of his free time by joining a tourist bus crew with his friends. From there, Wildan not only earned an income but also discovered a new, fascinating world: the world of buses. This is where he began to delve into bus mechanics during maintenance and even developed an interest in producing visual communication content for social media.
A unique blend of a passion for engines and digital creativity. Wildan’s experience at the GIIAS 2025 was equally exciting.
He shared, “I gained a lot of exciting experiences, not only by seeing the exhibits but also by updating my knowledge about the latest car innovations and the rapid development of electric vehicles.” This visit seemed to give Wildan an extra boost of energy to continue honing his skills and pursue his dreams in the automotive industry, particularly in the bus sector, which he is deeply passionate about.

Wildan’s story is one of many success stories born from the strategic collaboration between GIIAS and Dompet Dhuafa. The largest automotive exhibition in Indonesia, which will be officially held from July 24 to August 3, 2025, has a strong commitment to supporting the education of the younger generation through its Education Day program. Through this initiative, GIIAS is opening opportunities for students from selected schools or institutions, such as SMK Swasta Pustek Mitra Tigaraksa, to gain firsthand insights from experts and explore the exhibition.
Through collaboration between the industry, an international-scale exhibition, and a social institution, GIIAS 2025 alongside Dompet Dhuafa not only celebrates advancements in automotive technology but also invests in the nation’s future. They demonstrate that providing access and support for education is the key to nurturing young talents who will drive the automotive industry forward in Indonesia.

Sukma, as the Strategic Corporate Partnership of Dompet Dhuafa, stated that since 2018, Dompet Dhuafa, as the Charity Partner of GIIAS, has played a significant role in bridging this opportunity. This partnership has even provided tangible assistance in the form of machines and vehicle units as practical learning materials for the private vocational school SMK Swasta Pustek Tigaraksa.
This support is vital in preparing students like Wildan to have strong and relevant skills that meet industry needs. “This collaboration aims to facilitate and open up existing opportunities, with the hope of alleviating poverty and reducing unemployment rates.
Amidst the automotive exhibition, Dompet Dhuafa encourages visitors not to forget to share with others. For in every asset we possess lies the right of those in need. Through the Dompet Dhuafa booth at GIIAS, visitors can directly contribute zakat, infak, sedekah, and wakaf (ZISWAF) to assist those in need,” said Sukma.

In addition to donation services at the Dompet Dhuafa booth, GIIAS visitors can also get free health checks such as blood sugar, acidity, and cholesterol checks, as well as nutrition consultations with doctors and entertainment services such as face painting,” he added. (Dompet Dhuafa)
